NHBBareKnuckler
I am still relatively new to Hookah smoking so I’m not sure if this would work. From what I’ve read glycerin is one of the items in shisha that causes it to me more “drippy” as well as provides more smoke. I love Naklha, it’s my #1 brand. I have found I can get a lot of flavor with less smoke then other shisha I have smoked. However, I was wondering if I was to add some glycerin would that add to the smoke factor? Mostly, I would like to make it a little more wet to help avoid possible burning. I’ve learned heat management and I use a foil ring. But maybe glycerin added would also be an aid? Anyone? speel
YES! a fellow nyc'r ( queens here ) ... ive found that adding glycerin to tobacco doesn't really make much of a difference.. just keeps it moist
Johnny_D
Yes.But use honey also.I find just glycarin alone tastes a bit...chemically... So I add 1 part honey to 5 parts glycarin. Keeps a nice sweet flavour and helps bind the glycarin to the tobacco.Enjoy JD

MechAnt
From my experience, Nakhla is a heat hog and needs a lot before it'll smoke very thickly (but be wary of burning it). Adding glycerine is a touchy subject. If you add too much, you get a chemically taste and/or lack of favor. I've had a batch of Fusion (which is glycerine based) that had an insane excess of glycerine and it tasted like a perfumey-chemically mess. Personally, I wouldn't use it. It's all up to your heat management and packing. IIRC, shisha sold in Germany is only allowed 5% moisture so they sell a seperate glycerine to add and suggest adding a bit of honey as well. As for buying it, I believe you'll have to buy a vegetable based glycerine.

EvansLight
Id suggest using salted ice water in the base long before i would want you to add anything to the tobacco. Adding doesn't really help as much as it can hurt. Also adding glycerin isn't going to help matters any. For the most part if its not added when you first make the batch of baccy its not going to do a damn thing but burn off right away, and give that horrid chemical taste. If i remember right, Sonthert always said to heat the baccy in a saucepan a bit when adding anything extra too it, but it has been a while so don't quote me on that XD
Shisha.Bubbly
I keep glycerine on hand for DRY shisha but also have added to Nakhla . It killed the taste. I wasthinking that Nakhla uses less glycerine to lower the price, but no, they know what they are doing! I live in Israel which has many shisha brands sold locally and LOVE almost every Nakhla flavour. (Except peach) which is universaly known to taste like soap.I buy here also Saet-Safa, Al Waha, Al Ouns ,Al-Sultan, Abed El-Kahder.Glycerine I add to any left over smoked shisha. I smoke quite a lot from big bowels and sometimes stop in the middle of an 90 minute bowl, so to left over I add 1 teaspoon per 25 grams.
Oggie505
nakhla is the only one i find to smoke perfect dry, it just needs a lot of heat while the norm is just enough heat to get smoking, but my nakhla loves its coals

racemyghost
Thats what i was thinking. Alot of manufactures use honey themselves in the tobacco. So i found it strange for him to say that....
