Glassjaw
And I love it!Besides me accidentily putting the gromet for the bowl on upside down at first, it was amazing. Smoked some Romman Peach, and it was pretty good.Heat management is definitely something I have to get down though. With one coal it was definitely lacking, but at times it seemed as if two made it harsh. I think one with the smoke screen will do well.I'm supposed to be smoking again tonight, and then all night tomorrow.Hopefully my shisa lasts! Congrats on purchasing your first hookah!I've heard that the base is / can be rather thin. To my surprise, though, it came with a rubber sleeve to go around the bottom. PhishPhood
Thats a nice piece congrats. As for coals I learned this trick from EternalSoil I think... You put one coal down flat and the other about 1/2 way on top of that one so that its tilted. Doesn't give as much heat as 2 but enough to get fat cloudsLike this... PS Admire my pain skills! Oggie505
yea QT's are great, but I like the original models, but they are still awsome and is my daily smoker and has been for over 2 years
MrMoodz
QT's are great hookahs and great for hookah on the go. I have a new model as well and the glass vase is very fragile on the bottom. I know it'll be easy to replace if it ever breaks but still it would've been nice if the glass is thicker or stronger.
sss8789
buy a funnel and some exotica coals, it makes insane clouds and the smoke so flavorful.

SafeSearchOff
what bowl are you using, the mya standard? for awhile there the only hookah i owned was a QT. what coals do you use? with 3K's, use two to start it up, then like 15 to 20 minutes in take 1 off, and rotate it around the side. then like 10 or 15 minutes later put it back on and keep rotating the coals. PS Admire my pain skills!i dont know if i have said that to you or posted it on here but i did used to do that all the time.another thing i did when i used 2 whole coals is put the dome side down (the one without the pocket in it for incense)because less surface area is around it and its not making a mini oven type thing with the pocet part it tends to be a little cooler.i used to have to move coals around all the time. i would put them one way then turn them over then turn one back... was a pain in the ass!i'm glad i have gotten down to where i dont have to worry about it until the coal goes out! zeppyrkr
So guess what, i also just purchased one at my local shop last night, luckly it wasn't very overpriced, only 45, but after setting it up for umm an hour, i left it alone, it was on the carpet, went to clean it up, and realized the crappy base was broke. so now i have to drive all the way back and pray they give me a new one, they will prolly think i just dropped it but really i didnt the base was a thin piece of crap. ugh, the hookah gods hate me. waterboi
Sorry to hear zepp. That sucks . They are extremely fragile. I was scared to keep mine when I bought it. I sent it back and got a bambino.
ZenSilk
May i Reccomend LOTS of crushed ice in the base? the smoke will be much cooler, and you will be able to tell the difference between warm and cold very easily with a QT.
zeppyrkr
am i better bringing it to the shop i got it from or trying to get a new base from mya itself?
ZenSilk
You can get a Bambino base for 15 bucks from H-S. I think the Bambino base, althought not as sturdy, is thicker than the QT.
zeppyrkr
would that fit this stem?
ZenSilk
Waterboi and someone else both have crossover Mya QT/Bambinos. I htink it works.. Youc an also, of course, ask H-S online help, cause they'll go and find otu for you.
zeppyrkr
well this is only if my shop wont replace it for me, come on it hasn't even been 24 hours , i got it last night after smoking there, it was like midnight?
ZenSilk
hahaa wow. Well, the shops arounnd here would give you a story about how you broke it while you were backacking in the mountains and you fell in a puffy bank of snow...But maybe yours are forgiving?
