If it's harsh you are burnign the shisha, maybe keeping the coals in one place for too long, The coals need ot be moved around along the foril in order to keep a good bowl.

Your pull may be restricted because of a dirty hose, a clogged hose port, the shisha is packed too tight, or most likely oyu have too much water in the base. Make sure when you fill the base with water, that the water level does not go over 1/2" to 1" above the tip of the downstem (the part that goes into the water).

I'll bet it's not air-tight and he's then adding more heat just to get clouds.

OK Tips :-

  • Make sure the hookah(Shisha) is fully cleaned out
  • Make sure it's airtight - Place your finger over the top and suck through the hose port.
  • Use a gromit to secure the tobacco bowl in place.
  • pack the tobacco well.
  • Use cold fresh water in the vase
  • Cover with foil and make lots of holes.
And can you tell us :-

  • What coals you are using?
  • What tobacco you are using?
  • Can you post pics of your hookah(shisha)?

no, its quite abit of sand...

may be pieces of metal in the bubbled out parts.

the not nice looking parts of the welds (cause they cant see them if they are inside.

this happens with alot of hand made pipes.

the stem is one solid pipe so it is seperate from where the little pieces would be.

it should be fine!

ahh ok... Hmm. Much oddness.

Remove the hose - blow/suck threw the hose. This should be very easy todo.
If it's not then the hose could be the problem.

Whilst we are at it... Take a pic of your bowl without tobacco and a pic of it when you have packed some.

here are the pics of the bowl and the bowl packed...
though i think it was the fact that it was not airtight, would this be the case...
i tried it today, and seems much better...

Bowl looks all ok.

if it was not airtight then yes, this can create all manner of difficulties!

Any time - more than happy to get a smoking brother on the righteous path biggrin.gif

I would not worry about using Tape... It should be fine.

You may want to consider purchasing a better one at some point. If the problems are within the shaft areas there really is no way to fix them.
