What Do You Use To Light Natural Coals

Recommended Posts

Single coil electric hotplate from Walmart for $9.95, or my electric stove in the kitchen. The stove works a little better, since it has flat coils with smaller spaces in between, but then I have to clean it and it makes the kitchen stink.

Trying to light these new fangled Romman Lemonwoods on my gas stove right now...not as easy as it seems. Seems to take 8 - 10 minutes, then it's mediocre and the place smells like a boyscout cookoff went on inside.

Well hopefully they will work this time, I was getting aggravated so I ran to my nearest store only to realize it closes at 6! Do'h!

one thing i did during the summer - layer a "tray" outo f tinfoil - like 20 or so times over (i assume getting an actualy foil tray will work as well) and put it on top of the grill or outdoors stove. they get nice and warm in a few minutes and dont require much effort from yourself

try putting them on a mesh pizza screen. Can't help the smell, though.

What do you guys use to light your natural coals?

Im looking to buy something portable like a hot plate or camping stove.

I use a plug-in portable electric burner.

Coil burner that was $5 at Kroger. Think it was on clearance . . .

link?

I got it in a store in person two years ago. Kroger is a grocery store, so it's not on their website. Sorry!
