mushrat
Cool we have two folks from Israel on the forum. We've heard from hubble, how about you shisha? It would be interesting to live in a place where the hookah is actually PART of some of the peoples lives and traditions, as opposed to more of a hobbie/bad habit for most of us. MR Bubble
You'd be amazed how they can make Nakhla taste like candy in that part of the world. After all, as you said before about it being a way of life. MR Bubble

Easily avaible is "Nakhla" (from Eqypt) and "Sharouri" from Jordan for about $10.00 for 500.00 grams package. Its sold where they sell cigarrettes all over. For single pack, the prices have gone up around 40% in the last year. You can get sometimes "Saet Safa". I go to An Arab store which sells only Hookas, Shisha and equipmwnt 24 hours a day.Its a 40 minute drive from where I live so I don't go that often. The shisha sold locally usually is marked October 2003 at this time of the year which means its going...lets say, not fresh. I personally can't take the strengh of "Nakhla" though the taste isn't bad.I just can't keep it down, so I buy mostly "Al-Fakher" from the U.A.R. in the Middle East, shipped to California, and reshipped to me in Israel in the Middle East. I like its taste and smoothness. The hookahs are very cheap, plus equipment, hoses, coals, etc.At the big store in a multi-ethnic Arab village, they use quick lighting charcoals.I'm always on the look for natural wood, but rarely find. Many Arabs and Druze put the harcoals on the shisha itself, without aluminium. They sell already cut tin-foil packs, which are separeted foil from foil by Kotex Tampon wax wrapper pages!(I'm sure its not an advertisement). Anyways, I've tried putting charcoal on "Nakhla" like the Druze do, and not any more. It was smokey and harsh, and hot. Not exactly the right way to vaporize your shisha.
