guyt
You could try using a thimble, or whatever you call those things people put on their thumbs when sewing. Has the same general shape, I don't know if it will fit right.
tomtom
You could use a brass domestic plumbing cap and bend the sides up with pliers. I think that is all that the scalli mod really is
zeppyrkr
the glass one is like 7 bucks, call the guy and he ship envelope (semi risky of it breaking but ohh well hes going to bubble wrap) either way if you don't have 10 bucks i wouldn't be looking into it any ways. EvansLight
Foil.I made one back when scalli first showed it off to try it myself to see if i would like it. And yea, it was worth it.
mushrat
If you are filling thr bowl o the top, you just don't need one.But someone up there was right, the original was just something Scalli came up with one day messing around with pipe cap...funny to see something go from DIY to masss produced, and then back to DIY to save the money. Sorry he didn't patent that sucker, he'd have made a fair chunk of change.
The Devils Playground
I took a large paper clip and set it accross the hole and sure enough it got the flow this lame bowl needed to work like a champ.Bad design of a great idea.
mushrat
I just poke one hole over the center hole and it works great. perhaps you aren't packing it right. One of the finest innovations I've found for the hookah, kless heat, longer smokes, just gotta learn to do it right.
Canon
hes not putting the tin foil on tight enough if he has to use a paperclip.
hookah hippie
I find the mod to be worth the $6 just order it when you tobacco or something so shipping doesn't suck
clickhea
iam not a big fan of the hole in the middle
Scoop
the mod is a waste of money, i poke holes all over the phunnel, there is no difference what so ever besides foil never getting sucked in (which never happened before to me either shrug)
jfaltous
QUOTE (Scoop @ Jan 16 2008, 01:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>the mod is a waste of money, i poke holes all over the phunnel, there is no difference what so ever besides foil never getting sucked in (which never happened before to me either shrug)Although I've never used one (but I have one on order), theoretically wouldn't it give a significant advantage if you're not packing a full bowl? Looking at airflow with and without it seems that the difference would be huge.
