NoPeace
ok get this. i was preparing my hookah, which is a screw on stem i go to lift it and a chunk of the glass of the base rips off with the stem. i looked at it and it looked liek the stem had completely rusted into the glass. i dunno ill post pictures. i dont even know what part broke off cause when i look at the stem it doesnt look like there is anything wrong except fro when i try to put the stem in the base and it just like plops. its weird! Sariél
This happened to one of mine a few years back. It was a Chinese Nour, and the glass was so crappy that the glue was stronger than the vase. The threaded collar broke off, with a ring of small glass shards still firmly attached. When I suer glued it back on, it broke again with another layer of glue and glass on the collar. Now I just use duct tape if I ever take that pipe out. thomas
Same thing happened to me with my QT yesterday.. I was cleaning it and took off the stem and I guess the suction pulled the collar of the base right off.. I think it can be fixed if i knew what adhesive to apply. Anyone know? Scheetz
All my Mya vases the rubber grommet pops off. I like it better this way, because you can now clean the underside of the collar and not have to worry about anything lingering.

If it was cleaned more often, you'd notice any rusting.
