first off corbras aren't washable so thats most likely your problem its rust i think.

QFT... check out the how to funhouse.. You can cut up the hose part, repalce it with plastic tubing (making it washable) and still use the cobra ends. It will likely smoke better than before, and again... be washable

PhishPhood is right on, I've used clear and they are cheap and easy to replace.

You could also get the well documented Nammor hose, everyone loves em and they are infinitely washable. Once I discovered that you have to manage the heat a little differently (a little cooler, a little less coals), it's great!

Okay commensence/ science class here.
First off I wash cobra hoses all the time. Wash them out blow them out well and hang dry them. Blow them until they stop letting pater out at all.

Now to the class. First off ASH would have to travel through the tobacco make a loop up through WATER!! and from there get lodged in the hose. More then likely you have residue from the smoke in the hose. as it builds up it can dislodge/ if you take a non washed hose (anykind) that has been smoked a while and work it a bit you will break that residue up and it will come out.

I would say do this. Wash that hose out today. Blow it out good. Then from there after you are sure all the water you can get out is out oint it at a piece of paper on the floorr and blow the Hell out of it. See what comes out I usualy just use the palm of my hand to check this. If what comes out from there is redish aka rust colored you have rusted the hose. If when stuff comes out its Black its just smoke residue.

also when you wash the hose run a slow stream of water though it at first same color pattern here black smoke red rust.

make a decesion from there what to do as for a new hose goes. Oh and I personally would get a Mya replacement hose. Mine is holding up wine and it sees ono a slow day over 10 bowls and its been the same hose for months now. I end up replacing them because the metal top falls out not because they rust or go bad. I have a habbit of abusing my hoses here. lol

meh, just bang the hose around a bit, and then blow out all the debris, do that a couple of times, it makes it smokeable, I do it, and havent had a problem with mine, but then again mine is mostly just gunked up from misuse most of the time, so running water through it could have killed it, no real way to tell other than to cut it open.

You can use a few drops of lemon juice to clean them. Blow them out, and hang them up to dry.

I'm probably going to order a Nammor or a Razan pretty soon to try them out, since the hoze that came w/ my Syrian doesn't have a great pull.

If the hose isn't washable there's a good chance of it rusting if you put water through it. Edited by Ralleac
