timmediahOU
I have not smoked from a hooka that i owned in more than 6 months because i have been too lazy to go home to midland to get it so i thought i would order a nice desk hookah from hookah-shisha. i bought a MYAI really really like this bad boy, it is tiny and hits like my 26' egyptian. anyways time for some opinions Mush et all i respect your opinions and i am sorry to hear that you were burned severely by an import company. I will consider not buying exoticas, because quite frankly i am not impressed with them, they are great, but they are just like the stargates in square form. I am definately going to look for those coconut coals once h-s starts carrying them next month. In a world of reputations it doesnot matter how great your product is, but more importantly how you deal with your customers. By the way i read three forums daily : somethingawful.com goonfleet.com and hookahforum.com and these are the best forums out there, i have some pet-peeves and one of them is stop signing your posts we can all see who you are right over there <------------ dont worry about your e-cred or anything like that Thanks again guys for reading and thanks to h-s for the quick shipment to Oklahoma Edited January 20, 2008 by timmediahOU

I've never heard of any problems with anything but the glass and I would have eventually added one to my collection. However, (big, big however)....... Hookah is still not completely accepted in the western world. Even though half the people I work with smoke, we still hear from our executives (jokingly but still) that it's not tobacco we're putting into our pipes. Every single day we fight not only the discrimination of a middle eastern tradition (since we're at war in the middle east) but the bad press of people thinking you're smoking God knows what in your pipe. I refuse to spend my money with a company that refuses to fight that negative image. They withdrew from the forum here because they didn't feel they should have to back hookah culture with a vendor membership. In my opinion that is a hypocritical stance and I won't support them financially. You can't ask me for my money and yet refuse to help me battle the discrimination I fight by using your product. For me it's that black and white an issue.'Rani

jerrysalem
I hate getting political about smoking. My grandparents are from Syria, and I do take offense to the American media that blames all of the Arab world for all the problems in the middle east when everyone knows that nothing is black and white. People are people everywhere good and bad, and nothing at all is black and white. I hate to say it but Americans have a very shallow view of things outside their own country simply because most have not experienced other cultures in person, NOT because Americans are unintelligent, Americans (I am one) are basically good hearted, good intentioned, and want to do the right thing for the most part! The media in general does not do enough in depth research and look at things in my opinion in a very shallow and superficial way. I was taken in by the entire media and believed at first that the Iraq was just, and that what we were doing was very right. How wrong we all were. Too much politics, sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone here, I hope above all we have real lasting peace for everyone in the world, especially those in the middle east who have on all sides suffered very much.I meant basically to say that I love Mya as a company, I am a proud owner of a Mya Gyro, and will one day own a Mya QT. I see no reason not to support a company that is producing a quality product at a fair price for the quality they put into it, and for the materials they use which are as good as any on the market. And yes I do hate the assumptions when I talk to people that we are smoking more than tobacco in our hookahs! I would never pollute my hookah even once with something illegal, never, and hope no one gets hooked on something that in the long run will affect a person very badly. MechAnt
+1 to Jerry. Very intelligent and well perspectived argument. Either way, I love my MYA and will continue buying their products solely based on the quality of their products. MYA doesnt want to become interventionist and just wants to sit in the shadows and make some money. It's their choice and power to them and what they want to do. They just make their stems in China, mass produced, and their bases in Romanis, mass produced. They most likely didn't want to deal with all the drama here, so they got up and left and just kept selling their products. They weren't exactly here anyway, just to say theu have new products out. So we didn't really lose anyone. The only venodrs who post normally are DPG and Nazar. H-S sometimes comes in, but mostly on threads involving their products; I have nothing wrong with this, i'm just saying. Hookah-life used to be all over the forum, what ever happened to them? I do agree with you in principle Mech..... And it's equally my choice to choose not to spend money with those companies who want to simply sit in the shadows and make money while those of us using their product deal with the negative image. Look at our other vendors.... HOOKAH Company, HOOKAH-Shisha, HOOKAH Kings, Nazar HOOKAH, Social SMOKE, etc. They are obviously proud of their product and what they sell. Mya Saray? First thing you see on the website is glassware. As I recall, you have to go down a couple levels to even get to hookahs on their site. If they're ashamed of their product, maybe they should stick to glassware.'Rani
bubbascigars
I have the same Mya but in black and I just don't like the draw maybe I just do not know how to use it properly. I use a Hookahholic junior 2 hose all the time and I love it I took the bearing out and it is a clouding monster. I also have the tall Mya acrylic 2 hose I never use it I may end up selling it since it is a decoration piece almost. I am thinking of buying a tall ice chambered hookah next as a toy.Later Bubba
MechAnt
From what I know, MYA Saray is famous for their crystal wares. My aunt has a gorgeous MYA Saray chandelier and I've seen many crystal vases and other products they make. I believe that MYA's crafting of hookahs is just a branch they have and not even close to their main money makers.

Bryantos
Eh, Boohoo...I never get a negative remark from smoking hookah. Most people don't even know where the hookah originates from, but they like to smoke it. Also, Mya produces more of a modern hookah, not the the traditional hookahs used in the middle-east. If they supported the image whole heartidly and were fighting this unseen "war", like you seem to, then they would be making more traditional hookahs. By the way, I don't understand what you mean by they "hide the product" on their site. If you click on products, theres an amazing picture of a beautiful hookah, and it the first thing you see at the top of the page. Check it out:http://www.myasaray.com/products/
kahluajeep
Like what Bryantos said most people dont care about hookah around where i live. They really dont know its history or culture, they just like hookah because its different and they like to smoke it. But I do know that feeling of when people say your smokin other "stuff" in the pipe of yours, frankly i just correct them and ignore them, because i know i don't and thats all i need to know. Plus i makes them look like the stoner or the idiot. On the Flip side i just bought a 31 inch mya. And love it to death. Best sessions i ve ever had. My setup is stock now, but I just wanted to see how the super chief will do so i bought one from MnH. Still waiting for it =( Edited January 21, 2008 by kahluajeep
jerrysalem
Well, if Mya Sarays main business is chandeliers and glass and they want to branch off into hookahs, who has benefited by it the most? We have! If they want to emphasize their beautiful lamps and vases before hookahs, let them, it's their business and they can and should slant it any way they feel, it's a free country.I am just happy that they branched out, and that we are the ones that benefit from their business decision. I had two crappy hookahs before my Mya, and paid about 100 dollars for each one. I am very grateful to that company. If money were no object I would buy their top of the line model which looks like it would be a real good looker in anyone's stylish pad.

I don't think the majority of there profits comes from hookah. They have other branches and i don't believe that they want to emphasize on hookahs to a radical extent, they would be tarnishing the rest of there business, but like Jerry said, i think we benefited and i am more than happy with my Mya.
