MechAnt
While cleaning my MZ on Friday, I used my typcial cleaning method. Hot water with half a shot worth of cheap vodka. This was after four bowls of various flavors. So I'm sloshing it about, and scrubbing and then as I dump the water out, it comes out green like that of brass. I'm a trombone player and I know what brass water looks and smells like. Does this mean my MZ is brass cored? Despite the stem being all wavy and stuff, the inner core in completely smooth. If you look inside the downstem, it looks brass like, similar to my MYA's downstem. The top of the stem where you put the bowl in looks like brass welding material. Anyone know?Downstem. Look closely, does look brass likeWhere the bowl goes. Looks at the weld overflow.Thoughts? I'm not sure cause the stem is very light but the water coming out is green and the welds are brass colored in parts. I don't know! AHHH!!Not that it matters much cause I still love my MZ to death. Snoopy1966
MY KM did the same thing even though I cleaned it up really good. Must be something in the stem that causes that. It went away after a few uses and did not effect the taste or anything. My water did not turn green though.
ZenSilk
Damn that would just make the MZ even better. Brass does oxidize green like you said. Maybe stick Q-tip's inside the bowl stem, inside the downstem, and inside the hose-port as far as it will go. If it comes out that sicly green color it could be oxidation. MechAnt
Its not a bad thing. Normally the green water indicates brass. My trombone years have taught me much about brass.
mushrat
I get green shit out of my hookahs all the time, just the joices mixing with other stuff like the metal perhaps. Not to worry. Heck, I even get it out of the QTs and my hookah brothers (now MZ) hookah..
MechAnt
Well MYA hookahs are milled brass except for those that completely disassemble to reveal an aluminum core but brass heart that already outweighs the entirety of my MZ stem. Whether or not MZ is brass cored, it is the best hookah I've owned.
gaia.plateau
I get this commonly out of stainless steel hookahs... no idea why.
Ralleac
This happened for the first week or so with KM and my Brass Syrian whenever I did a thoroughly cleaning, but recently it hasn't been a problem.
