So im looking to move after my lease ends (may/june) ive moved every year for the past 3 years because richmond landlords are scum and jack rent way over head.
i need to find a 2 bedroom house or apartment that i can stay in long enough so i can save money to throw on a down payment on a house to buy.
anyone got any ideas about how to go about this?
i was thinking maybe i should contact a real estate agent. always found places by searching rent.com and so on but the outcome is always the same...i have to move.

if any one has suggestions please help me out and post or pm with advice.

Go for a multi-year lease. If you get a 2+ year lease, you should be able to negotiate for a constant rate for the whole time, or at least know what the increase is going to be each year. Some people did that with my last landlord before I bought and were able to pay less than we did during the second year in the building. Their rent (for four people) went up $21 and ours went up $65. They wanted to raise our rent an additional $150 over that, but they would have needed to clean the place up a lot to rent it at that price!
