MechAnt
Coals don't burn at a temperature that is able to melt metals together. Maybe it does? What kind of hookah?
Bulldog_916
It might be that the heat expanded the metal, the bowl sunk down just enough and stuck there. Then when it cooled off, it contracted so tightly that you cant do anything to get it off. Heat it back up with a port-a-torch or something till it has expanded enough to feel loose. Steady the stem in a vice or something that doesnt move, then pop it off. Please wear welding gloves or something that wont burn when you place pressure against the tray. I doubt the coals would melt the metal, Just be careful when you heat it up again to try out this method.
