So im heading over to SS's website to find a link for another post, and what do i find? An entirely new website!! When the hell did this happen?

I actually miss the old design This new one seems a bit outdated in its design choices; seems like something an new web designer would do XD

Hey guys... We all really like the new design and think its alot cleaner and more corporate... However it appears that others don't so if you dont mind comment on

1. socialsmoke.com - corporate site
2. shopping.socialsmoke.com - retail site
3. wholesale.socialsmoke.com - business site

I like the layout and its nice and easy to navigate, but my complaint is that you still don't have your MZ's labelled as being MZ's

I love the new layout. That's the first thing that came to my mind, corporate. It's very organized and looks official. The navigation is very easy, i like it a million times more than the drop down menus that used to be incorporated.

My problem with the site is that the design styles used in it are about a good 5-7 years old. The whole brushed metal look went out long before hookahs where popular. It, and no offense intended, looks like something a new designer made. The layout does look more like a business site, and thats good for your wholesale side of things, but for consumers your going to want a design that welcomes them and feels less like a corporate website, and more like a good place to shop.

If you want my advice, keep the design for your corporate side of things, but with a few tweaks to make it look a bit more modern (the layout is just fine), but come up with something different for the consumer end of the site. Also subdomains are nice and all but most people would prefer just a straight domain name especially for a place there going to shop at online.

All of this should be taken as my personal opinion, but ive developed that opinion from over 10yrs of web development (started when i was 10) and 4yrs of graphic design.

And a good idea would be a contest. Just hold a contest for someone in the community to make a design for your site. Offer something like a hookah, or a gift certificate or something. I know Rayver is a web designer, and i remember a few more hookah smokers here alone are designers. I don't doubt you could get something amazing from someone here.
