Geiseric
How long do you find they stay in that optimal size range?

mathuv
do they ever roll off the bowl for you?
MechAnt
I have a habit of ashing damn near any coal every 10 min or so. They do give off the little pebbles but for the good heat, quality, and tastelessness they give, it's only a small sacrifice to make. They do ash a lot but it is not a problem if you already have a habit of ashing coals relatively often.Rolling off the bowl is generally not a problem unless someone pulls on the hose very hard causing very hard "gurgling" which does have enough force to roll the coals off. After 5 min or so, they develop flat spots tho so it's not too much trouble. Edited January 21, 2008 by MechAnt
rez
yea i have not had one roll off yet but i have only smoked about 6 bowls with them so far. i usually use 3 of them and make a triangle so they dont roll as much. and when they start to ash the lose their tendancy to roll as well. SafeSearchOff
yeah the rolling is really only a problem for hte first few minutes, but i sort of underpack my phunnel just a tad and crimp in the foil a little os the bowl has some edges

guyt
How much do you guys put on your bowl. Because a couple nights ago I tried using them and 2/3rds was to little and 3/3rds was to much. (3/3rds cause I broke one into three, I know its the same as one whole). I was using fusion guava raspberry and just couldn't seem to get it right.
