danguarda
Hey, I finally got my MYA Saray Bohemian from Social Smoke (with the case... which is a really nice case; it even has combo locks on the closer snap things (What the hell are those called?)) Anyway, the bowl that came with it is pretty damn deep... I am used to the dragon hookah which is on the other end of the bowl spectrum (it's tiny). But even that small bowl will give me 30 min or so... so I think this huge bowl will give me like 2 hours at least... I could be wrong, haven't devirginized it yet. SO, my question is this: can I fill the bowl with less tobacco? I guess the coals won't really hold up if the aluminum is not supported by the tobacco. What if I can't smoke the bowl to the very end? Do people usually just toss the tobacco or save it somehow? Thanks for the help, this forum rocks. - Dan
Brad
I always fill my bowl about half or 3/4 of the way (its the one that came with my MYA btw). Just make sure you stretch the foil across the top so it is tight, it hardly never burns and I get just as much smoke.
jmexx
In essence, if the ma'assel never touches the foil then your tobacco will take longer to burn, thus less harshness. I always buy deep bowls so I have room to play with, because you want a good medium, little ma'assel touching the foil and enough ma'assel to laugh for a 2 hour session.Jon
mushrat
I also have a beep bowl, I fill it about half full and still get 1+ hours of smoking. When i still used foil i just made sure my piece was big enough to wrap around the underside of the bowl. That should be enough tension to support your coals. You just have to be a bit more gentle whe changing or moving your coals so you don't push down too hard.
