Hey Um Guys..there Are Already Bulk Charcoal Disks Out There!

Recommended Posts

oolatec, I think Dom was referring to belgian QL's. If the info on this site is correct, then these are disk shaped naturals.

I'm still trying to figure out which coals I'm going to start buying when I get my own place next year. I guess I'll have to wait and see which ones last and then buy an assortment of the survivors haha.

I recently purchased these when my local shop stopped carrying stargate naturals. I actually think they are pretty good, they don't burn as well as the stargates, but I don't have to break them up and I like the way that they ash (the ash clumps and doesnt go everywhere if that makes any sense).

I think those are the headache ones... there's a thread on here about them....

*edit*

Didn't take me long to find the thread:

those are the QL versions...

These are non-ql. gotta use a stove or REAL torch...same things as the coconara.

Note the difference between the Naturals:

and the QL versions:

Ah ha... appears to be the same brand however. Silly me didn't quite notice... smile.gif

SS has these too... but they are $5 more... assuming a full box = 1lb...

16 bucks a pound for these vs. 9 bucks a kilo for other naturals... hmmm...

ya, but it looks like no wastage...no small bits you can't use, no breaking it up with a hammer and losing half the chunk...think of how much of a kilo bag of bulk you can't actually use.
