TexasHookah
We were left a suggestion to start carrying funnel bowls. I was wondering how exactly the funnel bowl works and what it is made out of? Is it just for the looks or is it actually better than a regular clay bowl? Though i don't have a Phunnel bowl, i have the super cheif. But the way they both work is the same. The idea is that you pack the shisha around the dip and as you smoke no juices go down the stem. In turn they make, Taster, longer, and more smoke than a normal bowl. The super cheif is just made for smaller and shorter sessions, and the main reson is a much better draw. They would be great to stock

Voski
The phunnel bowl works differently then a regular bowl and bowls last way longer.
SafeSearchOff
essentially, the phunnel "catches" the juices, or rather, simply retains them, so that the session can last longer, because there is more liquid to evaporate. its made of normal ceramic. Johnny_D
Apart from safesearch no one really answered his question!A funnel bowl is a bowl with an inverted hole in the centre [See pics below] As Safesearch pointed out the tobacco sits in it's own juices and allows the tobacco to cook rather than a traditional bowls with holes at the bottom which allow the juice to drain from the tobacco.Funnel bowl is on teh right - I'll replace these later with better pictures. sss8789
I don't use any other bowl but my funnel... I love it, it doesn't harsh unless you add a crap load of coals and I always get lots of flavor.

EvansLight
I don't consider myself an expert, but ill say that i have gotten upwards of 14hr long sessions off of one funnel bowl. Ive had my largest clouds, most flavor, and longest sessions off of funnel bowls. Add on the scalli mod and it works even better (mod redirects the heat so it goes through the whole thing at once, not just the upper portion). sss8789
how the hell did you get a 14 hour section, that is just amazing. were you using the large funnel?
iamscott06
Yea.. 14 hrs.. What brand?!?!? I probably could smoke my bowls longer than i do but.. i just dont like smoking the same flavor back to back. I guess i just have to break down and buy more phunnels!! sss8789
to clear things up that was a multi bowl section, right?
EternalSoil
uh... i have done, i estimate about 4-6 hours on a small phunnel!medium you could add about 33% more time...and i can see it being done easily with a large!not multi bowl.plenty of coals though! sss8789
wow I don't think I'd ever have enough time to smoke a 14 hour bowl, and by multi bowl I meant more that one bowl of shisha not that crappy four bowled bowl (just to clear that up also)
hookah hippie
Ah the funnel bowl is quite a good investment allowing the tobacco to pool in its juices and not go down the stem. Also it allows you to smoke for longer due to the tobacco not drying out. Quite an acheviment in design
EvansLight
lol that 14hr one was off one bowl of AW Mint if i remember right. It was just me smoking, and i dont tend to chain smoke the damn thing, so with some good managment it lasted a long damn time. Also i don't tend to use my funnel as most people do, and i also work my tobacco different, and i attribute that to the long sessions. 6hrs used to be the norm for me, with 8-12hrs being the abnormal, and 14hr being the longest. lxjenkins
I completely agree, the funnel bowl is the way to go. Not only does it help retain the shisha's flavor throughout the session, but I also find my session are much longer - even using less shisha. TexasHookah
Wow, no bad reviews on the funnel bowl, looks like its the way to go. We will definitely have to stock thesetypes of bowls. Thank you everyone for all your help.
