kornkitten42
All i have seen of the P.O.T.B.S is a blatant rip off of the Pirate of the carribean game. I know that P.O.T.B.S has been in concept for a while and POTC came out before they finally released potbs. I'm not impressed. I mean it has the same fighting scheme, the same type of playing platform. I mean I know Disney ripped off of it's idea, but once POTC came out due to the movies releases and popularity, i think pirates of the burning sea should have reworked the platform so they would be different. I mean they took forever to release it, you'd think in that time, it should have been reworked. They took it back to the drawing board and the changes should have been made then.JUst my 2 cents. SmokingDjinn
I'm on server Gaudeloupe. This game has been in production for a long time now KornKitten, I first heard about it probably something like 2 years ago, and it was probably in production since before that. I think Pirates Of The Carribean more than likely ripped this game off, and decided to cash out on the Pirates of The Carribean movie popularity. As to the actual game, I spent something like 2-4 hours playing it last night, and so far I think its pretty fun. Im a Naval Officer for England, and I have my beginning schooner still. Lots of the missions revolve around ship combat, and its actually pretty difficuly. You have to take into consideration which direction the wind is blowing, then you have a choice of round shot for damaging the hulls for sinking the ship, chain/bar shot for damaging the sails and rigging and reducing mobility, and grape/canister shot for killing off crew to make boarding the killing of the crew easier. You don't level like in traditional RPGs, instead when you level you get skill points, and you must go to a trainer to spend them. There are over 200 ships, and players can build ships and sell them at auction. I have not grouped up with anyone yet, but it seems like it would be fun and the PvP aspect seems cool. I beleive you can actually vie for control of certain ports with the different nationalities. I went out on the open sea for a little while, and the map seems huge. I will have to continue playing it to see how well I like this game though.
