D00M Posted January 25, 2008 Share Posted January 25, 2008 So, I got my very first hookah on Wednesday and read the instructions on how to set it up properly. Nowhere on the instructions did it say I should clean the down tube or clear the hose before smoking. I just figured it came all pristine and perfect, ready for the smoking! haha... I'm such a dummy. The instructions said to wash the base with lukewarm water before the first smoke, and I did that! lol.. Anyway, I set it up, smoked some AW After Nine and was really disappointed with the amount of smoke and just attributed it to the shisha. Tried some Starbuzz today, and although it hit really well, I was still kinda disappointed. So, I go to clean it after the Starbuzz (it's sooo juicy that the juice got urrhwere!) and lo and behold there's a freaking shipping peanut lodged in the downtube... lol! I also found out through careful experimentation that the handle on my hose is removable, and there was tons of dried glue and fabric stuck in it! haha..I feel like such a dork. Anyway, after all the pieces dry I'm gonna give it another shot tomorrow and should really have a different experience, haha. Here's some pics of my new hookah..She's a beauty! A big beauty! Kinda like the girls I liked bringing home from the bars . I can't believe I only paid $50 for it! After taxes and shipping, total of $70. Item description clocked it in at 32", but in reality, with bowl on top it's actually about 35", guess I owe 'em 3" (el oh el). It came with a full accessory package, 300g of Soex (bleh, I could only see using it for mixing in a flavor), and Rolland Quicklites (Yech, don't use in a room you plan on creating a pleasant smell by smoking in, really good for outside use though), from Caravan imports on Ebay. They have a phone number and I've actually exchanged e-mails with one of the owners over an issue we had with a poster a while back. I myslef just ordered 2 keychain mouthpieces from them. I'd say they were the one DECENT vendor as opposed to the usual sleezy Ebay hookah sellers.Nice pipe btw. I remember almost killing myself trying to smoke my first time. It was pretty nice, but I think it was just some guy getting rid of an extra one he had. I must have just gotten lucky. BTW I second the motion to get rid of the Rolland's. The guy is very nice, helpful, and a good person overall. I was pleasantly shocked. From what I've read and seen, sometimes vendors purposely put a packing peanut into the downstem as to prevent any dust or whatever from getting in.
