Hey I Made Another Hookah Vid! :d

Dunno if any of you remember, but when I posted up a vid of my rings a few days ago, I said how I was thinking of making a hookah tutorial. Hehe I didn't think I'd be able to do cuz I thought it would take ages, but it only took a day :]

I also put up a notice in the beginning, making it clear that hookahs were never made to be used to smoke illegal substances out of it. I wanted to do this because I've seen other hookah vids out there and people just love to post narrow-minded comments about what hookah is used for.

All I have to say is that it came out way better than I expected

The reason why I wanted to make this vid was to get some practice since I am majoring in filming. I just wanted to make a "how to setup a hookah" tutorial cuz some of them out there don't really go into depth of how to really set it up.

Your welcome! Our of curiousity what did you use to edit? I just make my with iMovie, I tried Final Cut but it's too complicated to bother with jut for a video review.

excellent work. You got everything down except for one thing, blowing through the hose. Even if you do wash your hose after each session (assuming its washable), its always a good idea to blow through your hose before attaching it to the hookah just to make sure the passage way is clear from any particles.

I used both iMovie and Windows Movie Maker (for the instruction subtitles) iMovie was good to edit, but its very hard to put on the instructions on it. So I decided to use WMM since its much more easier and more basic...But the downside is, is that it doesn't have the transitions and special effects like iMovie does.

While it is good to minimalize the NHT aspect of hookah... The statement is incorrect. It has had other associations historically since its inception, its just we don't want them here, and we don't want people to come here looking for that. Edited January 28, 2008 by Geiseric

I know. But I just feel it just shouldn't be associated with it. If it wasn't associated with it and if everyone knew what hookah was really used for, it would stop those stupid ideas that every hookah is primarily used for illegal substances. I'm sick of it cuz I can't even smoke at school during my lunch break cuz I know it would cause so much controversy with the uni. police.

I purposefully smoke in places I know it will cause trouble in order to give it exposure. I have been questioned and had my hookah inspected by the cops so many times I don't even think I can count them any more.

Your feeling is understandable, but I think it's better to simply focus on the most common contemporary uses of hookahs, (tobacco), rather than incorrectly revising history to your own preference.

Muy interesante! (sorry if I wrote that wrong, I haven't taken Spanish in 2 years ) Hmmm never knew that! Well, my point is in the vid, I just don't want people getting the wrong idea of what I'm smoking and that if someone is seen smoking from a hookah, it doesn't mean that they are automatically smoking an illegal substance, ya know what I mean? There are about ten thousand spellings and pronunciations for hookah/narguile/shisha/moessel... Rayver, for example, pronounces it "seesha".
