I'm still trying to find out what I need to update...since I got TF2 back in october, I've been getting a warning while I play up in the right screen. It reads, "Warning:OS Paged Pool Memory Low"

You can go to My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Performance > Advanced > Virtual Memory > Change and try setting the initial to 1.5x your RAM, and the Max to 3x. That's straight from the Steam forums, so you may have already tried it.

...having trouble finding this in my computer, lil help plz?

Are you running XP? You should be able to just right click the My Computer icon in your Start Menu and select properties. Then you go to the Advanced Tab and click Settings under Performance. That'll open another window where you need to go to the Advanced Tab again. You can change the Virtual Memory settings there.

I've had the same thing with task manager. You just need to double click on the border around the task manager display.

As for page file size,

You go to Control Panel (should be under start in XP)
System (if you just see a screen that says pick a category go to the sidebar and click "classic view")
Next you need to click on the settings button in the performance box in the advanced tab
Then click on the advanced tab in the window that pops up
near the bottom there should be a button that says change in a box that says "virtual memory"
click that button!

I have the same problem with TF2 occasionally, and I'm not entirely sure that it is a problem with page file. I just increased it again, so we'll see.

Instead of going to "My Computer > Properties" just press the Windows Key and Pause Break(located next to F12) at the same time. Otherwise you may end up just clicking properties on a shortcut not giving you any of the "goodies"

I play on the Kross clan server.

It's pretty rediculous and ABSOLUTELY NOT for those who take offense easily.

JLM? I'll have to look it up sometime soon.

on this....
Intel q6700 Core 2 Quad (Over clocked to 3.74 on stock cooling)

EVGA 680i Motherboard
8 Gigs of A-DATA ram (overclocked to 1111mhz)

It's not actually that difficult on a core2. They overclock very well due to the 65nm manufacturing process and the lower power requirements of it. The 65nm Conroe cores and the quad-core kentsfields are especially good for oc's.

I don't know much about their 45nm Wolfdale and Yorkfield cores yet, but since they're on a smaller process yet I'll assume that they do just fine with heat.

Woot, my parts are in and I put everything together today.

Evga Nforce 780i mainboard
Kentsfield Q6600 Core 2 Quad Processor
2 GB Corsair Dominator DDR2 1066 RAM
Evga Geforce 8800 GTS 640 MB
Corsair 620W power supply

I still want to get a new HDD and CD/DVD-RW drive, but the old ones are working fine as of now. I'll probably have those picked out and ordered or purchased soon, but I may wind up being impatiant enough to just go to Fry's instead. I may wind up SLIing a pair of cards in the future, but for now this is working great as it is. This is the first PC I've put together from the ground up for my own benefit (as opposed to labs in class), so it's been fun. dance.gif Edited by Ralleac

Oh the agony of old architecture...

I can't even overclock my socket939 athlon64 3200 past 2637mhz (293*9) without the PC crapping out...

It's alright though! I'm on stock cooling!

Nice overclock on that core 2.

I still don't understand how anyone runs a cooler that large with an elevated heat pipe design. The thing weighs almost a kilogram! I'd be a little scared that I'd damage my motherboard in a vertical case. It's also 15.5cm tall so...

You've gotta tell me about it.
