Question From A Beginner.

Recommended Posts

I recently started smoking hookah and i'm purty addicted.
I have a question though...

When I finish smoking a bowl and pull off the foil to setup a new one, the shisha is usually burnt and stuck to the top of the foil.

Should I be pressing down the shisha into the bowl in order for this not to happen? Or is this normal?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Carltio.

I moved your topic to the discussion lounge - it should get some answers there.

My own opinion is that this is not a major problem - unless your getting a burnt flavour from your hookah.

What i think most folks do is to fluff the shisha [essentially pull it apart] and then pack it down a bit into the bowl.
Put the foil over and tightly as possible and smoke that way.

What kind of tobacco are you using?

If it's not tangiers tobacco, I would try to pack the bowl lightly to the rim and then barely push it down/spread it out so that it's not directly touching the foil.

To start the hookah, I take long, soft breaths to slowly heat up the tobacco and the coals. After about 8, I puff away like normal. Edited by austinthecity

Thanks for the quick responses, and the move biggrin.gif

I purchased a couple of different brands of shisha, my favorite one of the lot has to be Al Amir.

It's not really a major problem, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't because of my stupidity at setting up the hookah happy.gif

I've tried packing it in a circle so that it leaves a hole in the middle, but that just makes me taste the coal and nothing else.

It might also be that my friends and I suck on the hoses as if we were drinking a shake.
