It didn't taste too sweet (still pretty damn sweet though), maybe it's just the batch I have, or perhaps the foamy rootbeer smoothed it out? QUOTE (EternalSoil @ Jan 29 2008, 06:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>if i were to use soda in the base i would shake it up to make it flat first so it didnt foam up and fuck up my shit! There's really no need to shake it up, I've smoked with pop in the bowl several times and haven't had any problems. Rootbeer was fine, and I doubt anyone can find a foamier (sp?) soft drink than good ole rootbeer

Perrj99
Thats the only time I say "soda"...when speaking to someone I know probably has no clue what "pop" is. Sometimes, in other areas of the US, I fuck up and say pop and get that confused look or a chuckle.
gaia.plateau
I feel about 4 years old when I use the word "pop". "Soda" lets me feel like I'm at least 9 or 10.

gr!m
I love ginger beer, what an awesome flavor that would be. Although really good and well made ginger beer tends to be quite spicy which I don't think would make a very great smoke, coughing anyone? lol. Gold Wing Gunner
Ginger beer sounds disgusting to smoke through, that stuff is too harsh. As for Root beer or Birch beer that sounds awesome, but now I am tempted to try something like Jones Green apple Soda with some Double apple, or maybe Strawberry Lime Soda with Strawberry, Or Bubble gum with bubblegum! thecoalition
ginger beer is awesome. i tend to drink it alot when im smoking very subtle flavors.rootbeer in the base with rootbeer shisha is good too.jd....i think you need to ebay some MUG rootbeer. dark_lord
I, too enjoy soda ( Yes, I'm from Arizona.) in my hookah. I've never tried root beer before but I have done vanilla shisha with Coke. It's like your smoking a vanilla coke, maybe I'll do cherry next. I have never had any problems with carbonated beverages in my hookahs, I just burp the shit out until it goes flat. It is a good idea to have a designated hose for soda use, though. Soda will stay in a hose and will accumulate with use, thus causing the hose to have it's own flavor. Gold Wing Gunner
I thought that Soda is made with sparkling water, flavor and Ice Cream. While Pop is just a carbinated drink. Thats how my grandma explained it to me when I was really little, because I always said soda, and she would think of going to the 'Soda Parolor" when she was little. hookahmon
I smoked some vanilla shisha with orange soda in the base and I thought my lungs might explode. It was a miserable experience. I wonder why it was so different in my case... It kind of made me do something along the lines of hyperventalate. Anyone know why that would be? Foos
Ive heard that a lot of Euro countries dont have Root Beer simply because it never became popular there. I know theres at least a few different sodas that are common in Europe but unheard of here. For example when I lived in Sweden they drank a special type of soda for Christmas and Easter and Ive never had anything like it here in the states.
