heh, i doubt he'll be much more of a nuisance... he only made that one post, the nick was obviously created specifically to make that single reply.  plus, whoever it was didn't even spell "heil" correctly, and registered as being from germany.  just another internet troll...although the speed of the reply (it came within 2 or 3 hours ?) i'd say whoever it was already has another nick on this forum.although i'd have to say, jimmy eat world does indeed suck.and i love that live version of that matisyahu song, incredible energy there, but i really don't care for his studio stuff....get it? j.e.w? jimmy eat world? bah

Pavlakos... Ravi is traditional Indian music, usually consisting of a sitar and tablas....and a few other instruments that i wont dare try to butcher lol.I listened to Dead Can Dance tonight while smoking at work(projectionist at a movie theatre so after 10 the night is mine will we close) and its just to dark to smoke to. Needed something more uplifting...i.e. Tom Waits and one of my favourite comedians Marc Maron

Hey.  I find myself listening to Tiesto most of the time.  Just Be is the best.  Mostly everything though.  I like Tom Waits, but haven't smoked to it yet.  Hm...  Something to do later.

Amon TobinThe Dining RoomsAirBoards of CanadaThe Gotan ProjectKoopTalvin SinghThe Mercury ProgramBlue StatesOliveThievery CorporationToscaThe Karminsky ExperienceInfected MushroomI'm real into rock, but for the most part I'd rather not listen to it while smoking hookah. It's too distracting... I actually feel as though I can't taste or enjoy the smoke as much. Actually... sometimes smoking is more enjoyable in silence. But for when you've got a group of people around, I recommend the above.

anything Zepp (although I prefer Zeppelin II or Physical Grafiti disc
1), OAR is great stuff, as is ANYthing by Rustic Overtones (props to
anyone who knows or has heard their stuff),  and Trans Siberian
Orchestra's Beethoven's Last Night is ALWAYS in my CD player.

Not sure if people are still actually reading all pages of this forum instead of just posting but I thought I would post my hookahtunes (hTunes) like the rest! So, to inspire I will give you my hTunes playlist. All of these songs are available for download and preview on iTunes. Let me know what you think!I will list them first by artist name then by song title.1. Astrud Gilberto - Who Needs Forever? (Theivery Corporation Remix) . A big amen to Theivery Corporation. In specific, their remix of Astrud Gilberto's song "Who Needs Forever?". This is the ultimate in chill.2. Caedmon's Call - Wings of the Morning . From the album "Share the Well." This is a passionate folk song inspired by world beats and exotic instruments. Another stellar song from the same track is of the same name as the album.3. Incubus - Aqueous Transmission . From the album "Morning View" this song is all about the transcendental. Incubus is known for their delicate and subtle touches that make an other wise good song become an excellent song and their finesse really shows on this song.4. Bloc Party - Banquet - This song, from the album "Silent Alarm" gives us an ultramodern rock song from across the pond. Very chill and very danceable. 5. Team Sleep - King Diamond . A dark and brooding electronica song that makes good ambience for the times when discussion around the hookah is at a lull. It relaxes you without boring your aural senses.6. Patty Griffin - Mary . This song is decliate and hints on the romantic. By this, I do not mean love but intense and when she sings, you can feel it. 7. Rosie Thomas - Two Dollar Shoes . If this song does not want you to fall in love with a woman who could sing you to sleep with a voice like that, then ... well, then you are different than me! And that's OK!8. Stavesacre - Gold And Silver . One of my favorite songs from my favorite bands out of California. Mark Saloman's voice reminds me of Maynard James Keenan from Tool, but not intentionally. His voice has this hollow but confident sound to it (without effects processors) that inspires. This song has an alternative version with Piano that may be even better. I just can't decide. 9. Metric - Combat Baby . Another electronica pop sensation. If you like the first track, you'll love the next one. Very chill, very soothing, very hookah appropriate.10. Postal Service - The District Sleeps Tonight . Ok, this is played out sad-emo-kid music but it doesn't change the fact that it is good. Give it a listen.11. Get Up Kids - Overdue . All acoustic, all good. 12. Further Seems Forever - Light Up Ahead (Acoustic) . Because no good mix ends on a sad sign. Acoustic, excellent harmonies, perfect vocals. If you can't find any of these songs, check iTunes as I just checked to see if they have them all and they do. Thanks!

Thanks for the list, guysI'm going to have to add teh artist "Dwele" to the list of good music. Aphex Twin is also good to listen to, and of course any sort of Jazz/lounge music is great too, especially Acid Jazz (download the best of acid jazz, great album). I also really like this song, Mondo Bongo, by Joe StrummerA good idea for a new thread, if it hasn't been done before, is a "What are you listening right now" thread, where people can post what they're listening to as they browse the forum. And finally, for everyone interested, http://www.last.fm is a great site for finding new tunes. you download a little program, it takes what you listen to, and complies a list of artists you might actually like as well. Great resource!PS - don't forget cafe del mar ;)

I will try to be as partial as possible with this post as I am a bit of music elitist. I am glad to see a few respectable bands mentioned on here by cypmton and others.  What I listen to is greatly effected by my mood or what other drugs I am doing at the time. But a few unmentioned classics or quality artists I didn't see on here are:
