Rflorant
I just got my new mya saray taverna, and love it, but i have one simply question. There is a small, clear, flat rubber ring, about an inch, inch 1/2 in diameter. it fits on top of the base-stem grommet, but it seems unnecessary. lately i have been putting it under the ashtray, so it doesnt rattle. does anyone know what this little ring is actually made for? Muhammad
It's used so the bowl where the shisha is stored is kept secure on the stem!

ZenSilk
if you mean the silicone washer... the little tiny washer that is on both ends of the center stem where the threads are.. you do need that. It keeps the stem completely airtight. It goes in between the Bowl Stem Adapter and the top of the center stem piece, making a nice seal. Also, there is a grommet on the bottom, that is inbetween the heart and center stem bottom.

Rflorant
Thanks so much guys! i know what it is now. Its that silicon washer thing.Unfortunatly, i just flushed it down the toilet when it got stuck to the back of the ash tray. Is it really necesary, if my hookah is airtight anyway? ZenSilk
i lost mine as well, and in fact the hookah is not airtight fully. You can purchase a new one at a hardware store. Match it up with the same washer located on the center stem-to-heart thread.
Rflorant
i checked mine, and it still is!i guess the threads are good or something?

My threads on both ends have cracks in them. Taht's probabaly why mines not completely airtight. When i blow into one end while plugging the other i can hear the air woosh out.
