PhishPhood
http://www.hookahcompany.com/golden_hookah...l_1489_prd1.htmI'm lookin at new coal brands since I'm getting tired of the box of Sultan QLs that I bouguht... And its finally about empty. What exactly does semi-quicklighting mean? Will I need a stove for these or just a lighter.. I see the hand with a match but since using a stove is not an option I just want to make sure.

mathuv
jap coals normally need a stove or you could get away by holding them over a candle for a long time
EvansLight
Yea you can lite em with a lighter but it takes... ffffffffooooooooooorrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeevvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr But i like the jap style quick lights, they work well. Codename067
The Arabic writing on these Golden Charcoals say: Quick Light, Does not smell, Does not produce smoke....I highly doubt the smell and smoking part.
Shisha.Bubbly
Hi,There is a "new" type of coal you light with a match. They are rounder on the top (or bottom), are denser so are hard to break in half, but when lit, they burn slowly but surely without tons of smoke fumes, hardly smell at all upon lighting and burning, last around 60-80 minutes depending on how often you toke, and they clean up afterwards and throw out the garbage for you too!All but the last, still. Soex from India makes one, Pegasus-Ultra (not regular Pegasus) from Greece are the 2 I've seen and used a lot, hundreds of packs. Both I think burn the same length of time.I buy them in Israel. The many other brands of REALLY quick lighting coals, I take outside to light. These 2 I light in the room with hardly any smoke and no smell, never get a funky smelling coal on my bowl like the bad batches of other companies sometimes have.Been smoking 7 years, seeing continual progress and improvements week by week. mushrat
the ones originally pictured, the Canaries, are very good. You DO need a stove but they have no taste and minimal ash.I'd asked Tangier about them. He said they were good as well. They are not cheap however. He also mentioned to only get Japs that have 4 pieces per bar. Apparently anything with only 3 pieces are crap...The Tangiers is wise...
