Just Bought A Hookah, Need Help!

So my friend's friend went Egypt and picked me up a very nice hookah. The only problem is that it came without a lot of stuff, so its been sitting around for over a week now, unable to be smoked from. I decided to finally buckle down, and purchase what I need. So, now I ask you for help regarding both a hose and bowl purchase.

Hose:
I looked around, and it seems most people use the Nammor or Razan hoses. It seems like a good option, and its nicely priced too. However, its far from asthetically pleasing IMO. Any reccomendations for a better looking hose (something with a wood handle I'm thinking) that has just as good of a draw and smoke?

Oh, I also saw people recommending the MYA wide, which looks great imo, but I'm not sure how that compares to the Nammor.

Bowl:
I have no idea in this department. I was originally planning on just ordering a random "mod bowl" from hookah-shisha, but I figured I would do some research first. To narrow it down, looks don't really matter to me in this department, and I'd like to keep the price around (preferably under) $10. Hope that helps.

I'm sure you have these threads all the time. I would just like to make a more educated purchase since I plan on keeping whatever I get for a while. Thanks!

ill have my new black mya wide by the end of the week, i think there just as good as nammors minus the "bling" lol. thats a beautiful pipe, wow, very jealous, and get a phunnel bowl (i recommend small one, cause its still freaking huge 12.95, which isn't bad)

For a bowl, go for the social smoke bowls, they are excellent, even include a fatty grommet. Looks like you may need an ash tray as well.

Hoses, the Nammor and Razan are pretty much the way to go. Wooden handle ones tend to absorb flavor over time. The MYA wides are quite nice though. I'd tall you to go with a MYA Wide if you really want the wood. Edited February 6, 2008 by MechAnt

SS bowls or mod bowls are my favorite go to bowls, obviously the phunnels are great but use tons more shisha.

Is there a funnel bowl that packs only 10-15ish grams?

How many smokes does it take for a flavor to sink in a wood handled hose? I could always get a pretty hose now, and get a nammor when summer comes if need be. Thanks for the help so far! Sadly, all of this (hose, grommets, tray, coals, shisha, etc.) is going to cost more than the hookah itself.

get the regular medium phunnel bowl and get the Scalli Mod from MNhookah.com and it will allow you to load small bowls like you are wanting. it'll keep the juices in, but not force you to use a lot of shisha. the heat actually goes through the shisha, not over the top of it, like in a phunnel without the mod.

this is the best and most cost effective way to smoke shisha in my opinion.

yes, that is the same basic thing. i'm sure they would both work just as well.

sometimes, it's easier for me to load my egyptian bowl or my mya bowl than it is for me to put th mod in, then carefully put all the shisha inside but not too thick, etc. also, with the mod, it's easier for coals to roll or slide off, depending on what kind of coals you use. another reason is that some shishas smoke better in a regular bowl and others smoke better in the phunnel. you be the judge of that. make sure you have both so you can try it both ways and determine the best way for different shishas for yourself.

Phunnel bowls are rather large, there is none that size. I still highly recommend the Social Smoke bowl over anything else at this point. maybe a little but theres no way its more then 15g? i buy 50g's all the time and get atleast 4 bowls from them?
