Quick Questions For Km, Mz, And Other Premium Hookah Owners

I'm looking to build a hookah and I want to get the best performance possible out of it, so I'm going to model the dimensions off of these premium hookahs. I'm interested in making it ~25" - 36" so I wont be needing this info on mini's.

So could you please let me know:
1. overall height without a bowl (from bottom of the base to the top grommet)
2. length of the down stem (how far it goes down into the base)
3. stem length above the base (from the top of the base to the top grommet)
4. inside diameter of the stem

**After searching around a bit more it seems that I just need to keep the down stem about 2 inches from the bottom of the base. So I'm thinking ~32" stem, 12" base, which puts overall height before a bowl up to 34".

I'm still concerned about the width of the stem however. If anyone is willing to take a look I'd appreciate it. I want it to be wide enough to take big smooth hits without making it pull hard. Edited February 7, 2008 by mj_b90

I'm too lazy to take all those measurements but I can tell you one thing... 12" base with the downstem 2" from the bottom of the base sounds way off... that means you'd have 2.5" to 3" of water in the 12" vase, whereas i'd expect it closer to 6" or 7". Sounds like your downstem needs to be a fair bit shorter.

I may be guessing the size of his base incorrectly, but reguardless, judging by this post in another topic, his base only adds 3 inches of overall height. This would mean that the stem is only 3 inches from the bottom after being fully inserted into the base.

Please correct me if I'm reading this wrongly.

From one end of the stem to the other, my KM is 32 inches.

With the base, its 35 inches

Including the bowl, its a monster, stands at 37-38".

I've had it reach 40" using a different base.



If you can see, the most left KM has the longest stem size, but, the base is the shortest base out of this bunch. So when I take the stem on the left, put it on either the red or the green base, it will reach 40"


Compare the height of the blue base to the green/red base. The green/red vase is a good 2+ inches taller than the blue one.

mj, I was forced to cut a good 2-3 inches off the stem to be able to use it in my Blue Vase.

Notice in the second picture, the stem is not even reaching that silver design on the vase.

About how tall is your mid-sized base Codename067? And what about stem diameter? Sorry to be a pain but I wanna get this right the first time.

just got an icebowl, the hose port and the hose dont go together with the grommet...grommets to big. howd u do it?
