B-b-bonnaroo!

I went last year and it was amazing. Tom Morello played a ten minute solo with Tool during Lateralis. It was unbelievable.

I got to see Clutch live too. That's what turned me onto them. They rocked so amazingly hard!

It did seem to be all about the drugs though, you couldn't walk ten feet without hearing someone yelling "Rolls!" or "Doses". This year's lineup looks a little scary for that atmosphere. It got rediculously hot during the day. I can't imagine that a metallica show will turn out well in that intense heat with three out of four people fucked up on some kind of hallucinogenic.

And no, it's not a hippie festival. It is far too expensive for me to consider it that.

I also wouldn't recommend bringing a hookah that you care about. There are a lot of assholes there along with the usual cool festival crowd. You also have a very small camping spot and you will want to bring a tarp and some poles to set up a shade spot. I still have the tanlines on my feet from wearing sandals to the festival.

With all that said, I think I'm going back this year to see the Allman Brothers, Bela Fleck, B.B. King, Mastodon, and maybe even a little Willie Nelson. I'm also going to offer my services as a volunteer for the festival.

I've been meaning to go for at least the last 3 years now. Never had to money to make it. But I'm definitely gonna go this summer.

Does anyone else feel that the lineup so far is lacking?
Sure, I can name at least 15 bands that I'd love to see. But Pearl Jam? Metallica? Not really who I want to see at Bonnaroo. Bring back Beck and the Flaming Lips. The current headliners don't really fit the festival IMO.

TOOL!!! TOM MORELLO!!! TREY ANASTASIO!!! CLUTCH!!!

That's what they need to bring back.

I missed the flaming lips show last year because it was too hot and I was too messed up in the head at the time.

I'm truly scared to see a metallica show in that heat with so many people on drugs.
