Here in CA, its IF a cop were to stop you for something besides the cellphone but as they walk to your window and see you with a cell phone THEN they can write you up for the phone, or else they cant stop you ONLY for talking on the phone, thats how 2 cops that I have talked with have said it.

Very interesting that, any reason why?

because there, it is only a secondary offense, unlike new jersey

But that is stupid...well for the cops anyway...by us its if they see you at all having your phone to your ear whilst your driving( because they generally can't see if its on your lap.

And I agree with that because alot of people cause accidents that way or here atleast....and you see it leading up to that all the time, for instance when the lights go green you usually have someone in front of you who eventually only pulls of because he has relised that it is green......and then everybody hoots and other cars start going and it just causes sh*t already.

Well I'm rather impressed with my new TomTom Go920. Bluetooth handsfree calling that works rather well.

So there are lots of options for enabling hands-free driving.

Exactly, so if you want to talk and drive get a car kit so that no accidents can be caused.
