Wow, Some Need To Work On Their Pronunciation...

Recommended Posts

I was watching a video review on YouTube, forget who from, some woman. All in all, people really need to research at least a little pronunciation when doing videos. I mean I realize I mispronounced words when I started videos, but this woman had quite a few listed.

For example she's calling Al Fahker "Al Fahk-neer"...ewww sounds horrible. Remember that in arab the "hk" sound is throaty and phlemy and the k is not really pronounced. I would love to see someone do a video on how to pronounce all the names, and brands.

LOL watched more of her reviews (apparently she's on HookahPro)....she says "Nakala "(yes with two A's) ...and Laynalia...or erm...Layalina as properly said...ugh it's very hurtful to my cultured ears. I mean yeah, so my typos suck and I can't spell all words but owwww......please educate yourself. Edited by gr!m

some of the things that annoy me..

Axe (ask)
Wursh, Wurshington (wash, washington)

How about "lie-berry" for library.

It's hard to take someone serious, much less as a credible source of information when they can't even master the correct names.

Aw your poor cultured ears. Not everyone can be quite as sophisticated as you. :-p jk

But really, I know what you mean, but it doesn't bother me enough to bother to correct it. I've noticed that the person who constantly corrects minor mispronunciations is usually the same person who picks the lint off of other people shirts. :-P Edited by mj_b90

AHHHH Lint!!! But seriously, I'm not picky at all, it just so happens this person had many serious errors in a less than 5 minute review lol.

I would much rather watch a dozen video reviews by someone who mispronounces a word here and there than see 1 post by someone calling it to others attention. I mean honestly does it feel great to sit and judge others who are trying to give honest reviews. Perhaps you should put in the work and make your own review videos with correct pronounciations. The world is full of critics, most like yourself sit and judge others who try, while you do nothing but complain. wink.gif Edited by Dunkel!

i know right. i mean u and me being so close to DC we know what we are talking about when we talk about it. but i want to note to everyone. "Ghetto" does not mean black ppl, it means anyone who strives to achieve a lack of sophistication.

Well, if you are good with that stuff, why don't you make a post on how to pronounce these names correctly? I don't mean a video, you can always post IPA - I'm pretty sure they have most of the natural human language sounds covered.
I'd love to get some correct arabic pronunciation down...

This thread is closed.

We have had complaints and i don't think it's unfair to bash people who are not here to represent themselves.

Feel free to add comments to there youtube though.
