Im New To This

I'm new to the hookah thing,ive smoked at bars and at a friends house. Though I was wondering whats the difference between all the different types of hookahs like Egyptian Syrian Etc... I found one on hookahcompany.com http://hookahcompany.com/17_quot_small_29_prd1.htm and i was wondering if anybody has it and what they thought about it.

I would say the key to smoking Hookah's is personal preference. Everybody likes different types of hookah's differently. In my experiences the larger Hookah's always smoke better though. The two I have are 33" and 29". I have tried a 16"-17" it was still amazing but just found the quality of the smoke to be lower than that of a larger hookah.

Personally I think that the hookah you picked out will suit you well. I always recommend new commers buy cheaper models of hookahs in order to learn how to use it properly

I'm glad i started on the piece of shit that I did... I learned how to get a good smoke out of it so when I moved up to nicer hookahs I could really get em goin.

It helps you learn better heat managment and makes you appreciate it more I think.

Plus, if its not for you, you arent out a ton of money.

EDIT: I just realized I unintentionally called that a piece of shit, which it isn't. I meant my mini pumpkin that I started on was a POS. That looks like a decent piece for a starter.

My advice to you is buy waht YOU like ..not what others push on you. Just make sure your hookah has a purge valve and is not made in china .. they lack quality metals.

Definitely buy what YOU like... but also be aware of the differences between pipes made in China (assembly line) and those made in Egypt/Syria etc (hand made).

You could buy a cheap-o first hookah to learn the ropes, and upgrade to something nicer later on, or you could spend just a tad bit more on a very nice one in the beginning, and have it with you forever (so long as you take care of it, of course!)... if I could do it all over again, I would have gotten a totally different hookah than my first one, which was made in China. I like the hand-made look and feel... slight imperfections add character, I say!

But of course, you may feel different... and that's totally cool!

I started out with a crappy chinese made pear hookah (12") now I'm on my second, a 29" egyptian and the pear now sits, alone, never to be used again. Go with a medium (22" -29") if you don't plan on moving it much, or buy a MYA QT, everyone here loves those things.

From personal experiance, that hookah will get the job done, but it might not always be easy. I had a few minor problems with it, but it's still smokeable.
