Smells Different Then It Tastes

Why does almost every shisha I've tried taste different then it smells? i that the way it always is or am I doing something wrong?

what type of shisha do you use and what flavors have you tried?

AW- orange cream, after nine, California dream, a couple others
AA- blackberry
AF- almost all
Hookah Hookah- hazelnut
Starbuzz- blue mist, white peach, lemon tea, blueberry grape
Layalina- blueberry, guava, peach, pomegranate, and a couple others

if your cleaning your hookah right, packing the bowl and managing the heat (and have water in the vase) then you should taste the same/similar thing that you smell.

it could also be you thats not tasting it. when i first started smoking. for a good month i really didnt taste a difference in the flavors. but after doing it for a while then i started to develop that taste.

i say try to do less holes and warmer water in the vase.

ok, I use a funnel and do put a lot of holes in it I guess and I will try warmer water, and my hookah is clean

or you could try buying a scali mod, ive never bought one but i hear they increase flavor.

Canon is 100% right there. The first time i smoked shisha it was apple, next time was mango and everyone was like shiiiiit daz good stuff! and im thinkin.. Shiiit, whats the difference. but im like yayayayayayay thats amazinggggggg.

But then it started tasting proper haha.
Also, less holes = more taste, but if you're a thick smoke less taste lover, less holes in not an option for ya haha.

People preached ice water because it thickens the smoke, but it does so at the expense of flavor apparently. I've never used ice water in my hookah and I still get dense smoke and good flavor, but I have a phunnel and (new) scalli mod, so maybe that's why. Without the mod I was still getting good smoke and flavor, too.

But you know, it's all fads and phases.

i only used ice to make the smoke colder. but warmer water makes it smoother and taste better.

Meh.

My friend uses ice in the base and ice in his ice bowl.

I use only tap water.

I can't tell any difference in the temperature of the smoke...

Of course, that could be because of the number of times I've burnt my mouth with coffee, hot pizza, etc. Maybe I just don't feel the heat any more haha.
