speel
I check hookah company ( which is a pretty huge store among us hookah smokers ) and their new KMs are 100+ dollars. I personally feared this you know the whole brand naming of hookahs and prices jacking up because of this.. and it seems relevant to whats going on now. What do you guys think Edited February 14, 2008 by speel
shisha fan
this was bound to happen, given the good reputation of khalil mamoon hookahs on this forum. i would go for the hafa if you`re gonna buy one bacause i think it looks great and the price isn`t too high. austinthecity
It's also pretty damn fancy! Their hafas aren't that much though..
speel
the new KMs that are coming in are up in the 100 range
Elky
Its a supply and demand thing. As the reputation grows, the demand grows. And considering we are dealing with handmade product, not a machined peice like a Mya or somehitng.
supersubby
i think the pricing is crap my km is comming from egypt for close to 30 bucks and kicks major ass compared to the hookahs they got on hc
Hookah_Bob3
I can see it happening, but the newer ones also seem nicer than the cheaper ones (keyword: seem). I have a tri-metal though that was like 95 bucks and I think it's wonderful and worth the price
Codename067
Quality handmade Hookahs require the Benjamin's.I would've picked up one of their more expensive Hookahs if I was working, like the Aqua Zakiy...too bad I'm not and got other things to worry about. clickhea
they are saying the prices are rising because its the new fad, if the hookah is "worth" 100 bucks in the eyes of the company thats a different story.if u stop buying the new fad the prices will return to normalsupply and demand Edited February 14, 2008 by clickhea
oolatec
The new ones they have cost more because of the Bohemian glass bases. The Czech glass is the best you can get IMO.
zeppyrkr
seems pretty reasonable to me? ... and they do still offer cheaper models.
Derelict
I have the red "overpriced" KM from HC, and I will agree that it is pricey but a lot of it is made from brass including the core and heart. You can't forget that brass prices went through the roof, which explains all the stainless steel hookahs around.
speel
well i guess its all about what the buyer thinks its worth me personally id pay 80 for it max maybe 90 if came with freebies. There was also a study on how we are wired to think the more expensive something is the better it is. I think that goes on w/ hookahs alot. Dont get me wrong quality playes a huge role but i'm saying in general.

oolatec
Heh... just ordered me a red one... chose the Fusion Catcus Pear, and ordered a 50g box of Fusion Lemon Mint. I really wanna try this brand...
Twang
KM are poor quality in my opinion. For $100 one can get a nice solid brass Syrian. Which is far superior to any KM.

Snoopy1966
QUOTE (Codename067 @ Feb 16 2008, 03:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>What am I reading in this thread...tsk tsk tsk..Yes if I was a Mod that would have been a 2 hour ban for bashing a KM. I will post a review today of my Red Pear KM and show the 'poor quality' Yes a brass stem is obviously going to last a long time. This KM will also. As any Hookah goes, it is how you care for it. I have been using this KM since I received it. I use my Cyclone or Egyptian in the afternoon. Mornings and nights are for this sweet KM.
