mattarios2
I read that depending on the metals used to make the hookah, depends on what you can use to clean it. Is 420 cleaner ok to use on the brass stem and stainless steel down pipe? Any better more effective solutions?I searched found some things but wanted to double check. Thanks guys

zeppyrkr
ive used cheap vodka on my a few times, not after every use though!
PhishPhood
Lemon water works well, same with vodka. If you dont want to stink like an alcoholic then use vinegar.Vodka can be good for cleaning unwashable hoses since the alcohol evaporates quickly compared to water. Yargg
Grunge off works really well to get really nasty bowls (ones that you might have left sitting a few days during a particularly lazy/busy week or something.
Scoop
a steel wooly gets rid of everything on the bowls. all my bowls look brand new on the outside, however the inside ceramic unglazed tangiers bowls are pretty stained i used epsom salt and rubbing alcohol, but its a little too strong imo, so i just stick to diluted vinegar and lemon juice for the hookahs
OBY
Clorox came out with a natural cleaner.... Green Clean by clorox... 99% natural cleaner... very safe. I have never tried it but it seems like it would be good for cleaning hookahs.

ubernerd83
I work in musical instrument repair, and we have these things called "Ultra Sonic Cleaners" we use on the brass instruments. Basicially, they're filled with heated cleaning solution mixed with water and the machine itself sends high frequency sound waves through the liquid to shake loose all the crap. It works WONDERS on the hookah. The cleaner I use is called Simple Green. It's non-toxic, biodegradable, non-carcinogenic, non-mutagenic, and all that other crap, so if for some reason I don't rinse it out well enough, I'm not going to get cancer from smoking traces of it. Or mutate into some sort of freak.Of course, this resource isn't really available to most people, but I find Simple Green to work fairly well on its own. antouwan
i have a vortex and i just take out the ball bearing and hose port and toss it in the dishwasher for a go, works pretty well, i wouldn't recommend it for handmade hookahs though, water tends to get caught in the decorative stuff...it only took one time haha
