Mtx Or Kicker?

well how loud do you want it? for your pleasure or for others outside your vehicle? I had one 10" MTX comp in my pathfinder and it was extremely loud . Of course I built a custom box designed by MTX themselves but it sounded very clear and clean. I would go for the MTX over the solobaric .

Like I said, I want to bump clean. And let's be real, It's not going to be for only my enjoyment when it's dual 12"s in a Dakota Club Cab wink.gif lol. Yes, I am thinking about putting 2 12s in a Dakota smile.gif

The question was MTX OR Kicker...not MTX OR Kicker OR nothing. I'm torn. I know that Kickers are rediculously loud and is a freakin nasty sub lol, but the MTXs are more clear. Any experiences with either or both?

Yea, I'm good. I can get the Kicker ZX1000.1 amp for $240. I'm getting the Kicker ZX200.4 to power my speakers. It's $69. lol Both brand new direct from Kicker. Gotta love working for Circuit City! So, I can either get the L7 brand new for $165, or buy the dual MTX T5500s from my buddy at work. He used to do comp stuff.

Yea, the ZX1000.1 is a $800 amp for $240. The ZX200.4 is a $230 amp for $69. But, I'm thinking about going for the MTXs. The guy knows his shit. He used to put Dolby 5.1 surround in CARS lol. Intense shit...but i wanna set off car alarms and turn heads.

Haha Well with two 12" you will turn heads, setting off car alarms will be a stretch though tongue.gif probably need 2 12s and 2 15s for that, I was going to get a 10 and a 15 but i settled with a twelve because it can get fairly high in bass terms, and hit pretty low too. Only problem now is my car is screwed, all the screws in the headliner rattled out, the overhead console has one screw remaining in place and my windows sometimes pop out of the groove if I don't have a window open. Also at night my headlights suffer tongue.gif its a hard life ...

Lol I'm getting a Capacitor for like $50 or so to help the headlight problem lol. Plus, I have Sylvania Silverstars smile.gif. I can also get dual 12" L7s direct from Kicker for $300. Those retail at $1,000!!! But, yea, I mean in parking garages and shit for setting off alarms. I can't wait till I get them. Bump out in agrivation cuz this bitch just led me on tonight..GRR lol but smoke the hookah, chill, and let the world take a spin. Oh well!

It is really soothing in a weird sort of way haha flooring your car as your bass hits and your jeans / hair / head / stomach / legs vibrate smile.gif gets rid of all your problems. I am hoping my maintenance agreement will cover the rattling out of the screws, im guna disconnect the sub and leave it in the garage before I go though smile.gif Im off to bed tho but have fun with your subs when they come biggrin.gif

So MTX ftw? The screws are not going anywhere lol it's a screw with a nut on the back lol theft resistant screws cuz my license plate got jacked once. Plus it's a truck so I most likely won't hear it anyway, especially once I put the Flowmaster on it!

trust me you wont regret the mtx. with the right amps they are some of the loudest retail subs out there imo.
plus everyone is trying to recommend you other stuff but dont realize that those of us who work at cc or bby get massive discounts on car fi stuff.
i have no subs in my car but what would have costed easily over a grand (speakers head unit amp) only cost me about 300 bucks including installs somewhat 2 years ago. once my speakers die out ill do the same thing again.

Well if you going to force me to pick, im going to be honest with you, i have 2x "12 Pioneer Champion Series (400RMS, don't quote me on that lol) and gotta say i love them, but what you really need to go with subs is the works man, get a good deck, upgrade all the speakers and get a nice 4 channel amp for the speakers. With out amp'ing the speakers turning it loud to get good bass from the subs and you speakers will start to distort. But Kicker or MTX, theres nothing wrong with either of them man, seriously there both going to be loud and you can make them both clear if you want, depending on the amp settings. How ive always looked at "car audio" world, theres the crappy, the mid (MTX, PIONEER, KICKER) then you go to a real audio store and realize Circuit City sells NOTHING, we have a car audio place by me "Stay Tuned"; i swear to god nothing in there is under 500 bucks, they do all this custom work and real subs and perfect boxes for them and real amps lol. But any ways kinda started to ramble im apologies. So really i think the major difference is 2 subs is better then one, unless were talking about jl lol. So MTX but look into it more man. and i think we should get a nice picture car audio thread up, but my cars a mess waiting to spring to clear it up, its kinda a show car smile.gif i like the 7" DDin TouchScreen the best smile.gif and the Polk audio 6.5's and 6x9s!

Yea I have the Pioneer DEH-P5900IB with iPod cable hooked up. I have Polk db651 in the back and the compenent set, db6501, in the front. I will be getting a Kicker ZX200.4 (200 watt, 50x4) amp for my speakers, and a Kicker ZX1000.1 (1,000 watt 1000x1) amp for the subs. So I will be powered. The subs are just the last thing I need smile.gif.
