so i decided a few days ago im gona take a pretty long break from hookah. my lung capacity is pretty bad right about now but i guess thats not the main reason. every day for the last month or so i smoked like 2 bowls a day. for the last week it was just... pain? never seemed to taste good, got pretty nauseous pretty fast, and i dunno.. it kinda bored me. so from now till may i have stopped smoking hookah. lets see how it is when i get back...

haha yeah. in the mantime im gonna read up on smoking tangiers - i cant seem to get my f-line working

F-Line can be rough. Red Tea is tricky, Cocoa is a bloody challenge.

I hate to tempt you with this, but here's how I've gotten it to smoke beautifully tongue.gif

(Using exoticas and Tangy phunnel) heat about 1/3 stick so that the entire thing is red hot... take a pair of needle-nose pliars and break it into a bunch of slivers/tiny pieces... carefully place about 1/2 the pieces in a thin ring around the bowl, and use a wind cover for 5-10 minutes... you should be getting about 1/2 the smoke at this point that you're used to with Tangiers... take off the wind cover, and add the rest of the coal pieces... in a minute or so you should be getting full smoke. Put on another 1/3 stick to cook at this point, break it up again, and repeat.

It's a bitch but the extra buzz is worth it.

cocoa is tricky? never had a problem with that. altough the raspberry i find to not have the rasp flavor i was expecting. acclimated for 7 hours and i got the faintest raspberry i had tasted. im hoping when i try it again its good but for now im enjoying my esk apple and the h-s blend i bought.

You understand that we're talking about the F-Line, right? I ask because I've never seen Raspberry in F-Line.

yea EL took a non voluntary 4 month or so break from hookah. its been so amazing since i got back, and i dont let myself smoke like crazy to keep it from getting old again. Havent smoked yet this week biggrin.gif But the smell of pink lemonade in the air is driving me mad.

And a word of advice from EL, even though its hard to do cause it gets you tempted, take out and stir your baccy every now and then. Granted your time off is shorter then what i did but i lost a few tubs of AW and i think just stirring every now and then would have helped.

Be careful. I can't remember how the quote goes exactly but a friend told me something like this:

At first smoking is never about the addiction, it's about the buzz. You're fine with it every once in a while. But then you realize you're smoking more and more often and never quite getting the buzz.

I would also caution you against cigarettes, dude. They aren't a replacement for hookah but much more importantly hookah isn't a replacement for them. I've been addicted to cigarettes for ten years, as in like, I still today can't hold a lit cigarette without feeling a maddening urge to smoke it. I quit some heavy NHT at the same time as cigarettes, the kind that goes in your nose, when I was 16, and compared to the urge to smoke ciggies I felt absolutely nothing for the NHT. Moreover, I've never once felt an urge or need to smoke hookah.

So yeah, I hope you reconsider tongue.gif especially if you have an addictive personality.
