erufiku
Just got a kilo of Rolland Naturals sitting next to me right now. Paid $5 sans tax, courtesy of the shop owner. Can't wait to get back home today and try them out. It seems to be the only natural coal available in Montreal...Any suggestions? I'm new to the whole natural thing so tips would be appreciated! Johnny_D
Get 'em good and hot and glowing throughout. When you blow on them they should return to full redness [no areas of black] Expect it to take a good few mins JD
JillyIsJustKidding
I agree with JD.They are pretty damn good coals. They ash very finely and not into those sucky pebble looking things like nours do. Wish the were square or triangular though cuz that would be really convenient. Yeah like any other natural coal, make sure it is glowing red hot or else you'll get a headache and you'll feel nauseous.

erufiku
Well, I just got a bowl going and let me tell you, I've never had clouds like these going before. Forgot to mention that I picked up a hose as well cause my regular MYA hose is pretty much done for. Turns out it's the 84" Long Handle MYA hose (via MNH) that I got for $15.This is the only time I got a good deal on hookah stuff in Canada One thing I noticed while lighting the coals... the began to burn a few minutes after putting them on the stove. Burn as in, there was a flame. Is that normal? On another note, I still can't get good taste from my Starbuzz White Peach :/

I'll try them out if I go to NY this summer though.

For me it has happened the same way, but it happens further into the burning, after I turn them. Just let the flame burn until the coal is hot, take them off the stove and onto the bowl. Definitely good coals, IMO. Wouldnt know much about the Starbuzz, as I've never smoked it.
