Phoenix Hookah

Recommended Posts

King Tut's Cafe - Apache Blvd, East of Rural, Tempe. -This was the first hookah bar i have ever been to, and probably the hookah bar that I have frequented the most. This place attracts LOTS of college kids though.

Cafe Istanbul - Apache Blvd, East of Rural, Tempe. -I come here fairly often to buy hookah tobacco, but have never stayed around and smoked here. I'm not sure what brands of shisha they use in their hookahs, but they have a good selection of shisha to purchase.

Urban Cafe - Apache Blvd, East of Rural, Tempe- Another hookah lounge on the same street. Been here once. I had an OK experience here. Good quality hookahs, but for some reason we had a not thick smoking bowl... and the shisha was a little harsh too. BUT, things could be different now.

Red Sea Cafe- University and Rural, Tempe- A non Arab? owned establishment. They might have changed their name (the place is right next to Club Tattoo). Went in there over the holidays to check it out, but not to smoke inside. The inside is very plush. New leather couches, really swank looking. They only use Fumari.

Layalina Restaurant? - Scottsdale. Haven't been here but heard it's nice.
Pita House - Scottsdale. Haven't been here but heard it's nice.

That 70's Lounge Hookah Shop - 7th st and Camelback, Phoenix - This place has a retro/hippy atmosphere. Cool owners, a little pricey to smoke. Smoke sessions last 30 minutes unless requested otherwise. Mostly carries Pharoah's and Fusion shisha.

Smoke N Go Tobacco and Hookah - 7th st and Bethany, Phoenix - Awesome owner, but not necessarily a hookah lounge. YOu can smoke there and chat with the owner, which is cool. $5.00 to smoke fumari. The inside looks more like a smoke shop rather than lounge though.

Oasis Cafe, somewhere in Tempe. The old Oasis was cool and fun. Haven't been to the new place though.

Albazi, 19th Ave and Bethany, Phoenix - Drove by here the other day but didn't go inside.

Omar's Hookah Lounge, 43rd ave and Thunderbird, Phoenix - I smoked with an employee right before the lounge opened up. Nice place and nice hookahs. My session was on the house and don't remember what the charge is. But the place is right next to ASU West, so expect a big crowd.

Some sites to check out are www.hookahculture.com and http://www.zabihah.com/. Both have great info on places to go for hookah.
Let me know where you end up going and how it was!!
