How large do you want? And what kind of budget are you on? Smoke thickness is more dependent on the type of shisha/bowl/coals you use... it's not all about the hookah, or its size.

If you like the more traditional hand-made look (a few imperfections here and there... but that adds to the character of the pipe IMO), then get Syrian or Egyptian. If you want something more "perfect" looking ie. machine made, get a Mya.

I will say Go Syrian. I will try another egyptian today but I am thinking syrian is the machine for me if you are not in to Myas.
