chromecarz00 Posted February 20, 2008 Share Posted February 20, 2008 So my amigo went through a serious breakup, took him and another friend out...took the hookah, mint nakhla, in my ghetto hookah, fit perfectly in the armrest comp...smoked fr awhile, good stuff, until a coal drops between my seats.burned my carpet, couldnt reach it for a minute and a half.sucked butt.but my amigo felt better, so I think it was worth it...wind cover is a must now. reccomendations? Switch Posted February 20, 2008 Share Posted February 20, 2008 (edited) well were you driving? when my friends and i are in a moving vehicle and smokeing hookah, we always use either a windcover, or the bowl/screen/cover mod bowl. But when sitting still we normally are just careful. thejoshman Posted February 20, 2008 Share Posted February 20, 2008 (edited) ok bros, i am a car smoking expert. i do 90% of my smoking in my van. i smoke in a stopped car, and i smoke on the go. tips!!!A: Newspaper is key. once you drop a coal on newspaper, it wont burn at all or much at all if you pick up the coal in under 5 minutes. B: put your hookah on a relatively flat serfice, like a piece of cardboard box, or something.C: get some good tongs. you dont want flimsy tongsD: make sure your hookah tray is stable. no flimsy off balance shit.E: get comfortable, moving around alot can result in tipped hookahs or falling coalsF: make sure your hoses are long enough. so it doesn't tip the hookah.G: quick lites save your life. yes yes, quick lites make everything SO MUCH easier. H: when driving, make sure you get some bungee cords, or rubber straps and find someway to strap it down, make sure its stiff and it wont move. the hookah will move on acceleration more often then braking.I: if you burn your carpet, get some clear drying, really, really, good glue, and find a floor mat you dont use, or get down and clip fibers from the carpet under you seat, or get the floor mat and clip chunks or fibers. fill the spot with a nice clean layer of glue, dont use too much.. then fill it nice, cleanly and evenly. and youre done.oh i forgot to mention, the mod bowl with a wind cover and a screen is awesome to use when you drive, just dont try to reach over it to turn up the tunes, youll burn the shit outta your arm...i know i did...my worst story...i had a coal fall under a seat, and i didnt know it until i was cleaning up and it had burnt through to the chassis. haha. covered that fucker up!have fun kids! mathuv Posted February 20, 2008 Share Posted February 20, 2008 when in a car its easy and convenient to just make a foil "cage" around the bowl.. not many forum members are a fan of the combo (screen+cover) bowl and i dont intend on trying it, never really liked screens, holes are way too big and an ashy coal can ruin a good bowl....how the hell do you light naturals in a car quicklites are your friend and i wouldnt recommend smoking whilst driving. OR you can get a hobohookah and fit it onto a 1L SIGG bottle if you have that. they don't fit as good in cup holders though.Also, foil crowns work loads better than wind covers. Has anyone ever had an experience like that in their car? I know that I've read a lot of stories about dealing with the police while smoking in parks. Use foil for the wind cover. Now as you get the col in place centered you want to pinch the foil so it holds the coal in place. Otherwise the coal works like a hocky puck. Windo covers get knocked over and get super hot. The covered bowls turn the screen/ bottom foil in to a hockey rink so by all means foil for the wind cover my man and you will appreciate me in the mornging and don`t forget to pinch in the sides on 4 sides just enough to hold the coal.
