Soup
They sound like they are used for a pipe or bong. "Heat absorbing glass blocks offensive lighter fuel for cleaner, cooler inhales"
Soup
I just noticed this --> "About an 1/8 of an inch across and comes in a 3 pack of assorted colors. " Yup for a pipe or bong. This is definitly not hookah material.
Fire-Soul
Well then, I think I know what I'll be doing as a project after I get a hookah. I could attempt to make a hookah bowl screen out of glass.
Soup
There is actually a thread discussing a glass head with a glass screen. I tried to find it but it escapes me.

Fire-Soul
Has anyone tried using a brass faucet screen over the steel/foil screen. In theory, it should help prevent hot spots if you set the coal(s) on top of it. Especially if you get a larger sized brass screen like they use for chemistry and heating beakers with by flame. They place the beaker on a stand with a hole in it and usually a brass screen covers that hole before the flame is placed beneath it and the beaker on top. UnSaniTiZ
those glass screens are for pipes/bongs. They keep the ash from going through into the chamber(s). They're considered a step up from the typical metal grate type. They can be a pain though, because nobody (other than you) knows it's in there, and they all take it out thinking it's ash and it gets lost. So I've heard, anyway................. -UnSaniTiZ
