What Should A Bowl Look Like After Its Done?

It seems like from some peoples posts that it is not supposed to look burned? I assume even if you don't roast the tobacco once its done it is gonna be black and dry, no?
Just want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong.

Ideally it will be a black, dried out "puck". What you don't want is it actually burning into ashes (similar to say cigarette tobacco).

I try to strive for a nice "puck" of shisha when using my standard bowl. dark brown, not black, and pretty dry all the way through. For my funnel I aim for what I nerdily call "darth doughnut" , dry and dark at the top, but still slightly moist around the bottom. Like a half cooked krispy kreme.. mmmm.. doughnuts..

Yeah I have never had the tobacco turn to ash. But when mine are done they are "black pucks" heh. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I'd agrre with everyone else here. Mine are the same and when I clean them, its still moist enough on the bottom to slide the "puck" out.

half of my "puck" is usually stuck to the bottom of the foil when I pry it from the bowl... sometimes still smoking. but yeah - overall hard, and black and a little fresh still at the bottom.

When your done its going to look dry and darker than what you stated with (black in most cases). There should be no fluids left when your done with a good session. As far as it turning hard this is depends on the tobacco. So brand end up harder than others. Some leave nightmares in your bowl such as the Kamal samples I recently had, those left a lot of gunk.

mine is black and crusty "pucks" with a bit of moisture at the bottom. lately the pucks have been sticking to the bowl though, maybe too much heat.
