Majid
Anybody have experience with it? Advise for or against it? Any tips?I've tried it a few times and it seems to create more flavourfull smoke, nothing too spectacular though. I think it helps heat up the bottom of the bowl better. louman3333
probably helps with containing the juices like the phunnel. never tried it though
guyt
I've made a ghetto phunnel like that a couple times. It's not the real thing but its nice.
Johnny_D
I've only know one person do this - and he was having a real hard time. There is no need to line the inside of the tobacco bowl with foil, it's just going to make your session harder to control I would have thought.Apparently this idea of lining the bowl comes from hookah hookah? Oddness.JD
Voski
I used to do it with my regular bowl. It just made it easier to clean up, the bottom layer would pop out and all the tobacco was sandwiched between two layers of foil.

Majid
Just had a bowl of nakhla banana twice in a row with some friends. First time with and second without lining the bowl. With lining had more flavour but a little less smoke.
mathuv
yeah i think it gives more flavour because the heat is reflected upwards, to the bottom of the shisha so both sides (top and bottom) of the shisha are being heated)
Johnny_D
Still can't understand it.I can cook a bowl quite happily over two hours with super clouds and flavour [Even Nahkla].... If your needing to turn to gimmicks then your either using a really crappy bowl, packing the tobacco really badly, or your heat management sucks.Cleaning a bowl [With the exception of that shitty MYA unglazed bowl - WTF?] should be simple also.Learn the basis folks!JD Edited February 24, 2008 by Johnny_D
Majid
Good for you but i've virtually never come across people who smoke for over two hours straight. That would mess up your throat and your lungs. Probably get buzzed to the point that your legs give in.

And people don't get buzzed to any point. In fact a large percentage of us don't get buzzed at all.So yes, Good for me. Majid
It can be done easily but i wouldn't smoke past that point (2 hours plus). Hour and a half 2 hours max and i stop. For health reasons most of all. You're letting too much smoke pass your lungs for too long. Plus the smoke grows more harsh even if you don't notice it. The top of the bowl is definitely burned, and more and more ashes end up in and on the tobacco with time, wheter you notice or not some of that ends up in your lungs, mouth or elsewhere in your system. But this topic was about something else entirely. nicayotte
I doubt it, i have done a 4 hour smoke, on 2 bowls mind you and felt fine!
Majid
I've been noticing this though, many people tend to marginalise the health risk in hookah smoking. Remember we're smoking tobacco heated by coals, that's no joke. Sometimes you just have to be carefull is my opinion. Mind you i have done the same thing, but afterwards i think to myself, you should have just left it at that one bowl. Best thing is not to keep smoking for too long on end, since we don't always notice damage being done.
