Water In Stem ...

Recommended Posts

Hey guys if after my session there is a little water on the grommet of the stem that connects to the vase and a little water in the tippidy bottom of the stem does that mean there is too much water in the vase? I think now that I have the Razan it bubbles harder, b/c I don't think I had this issue with my thinner washable hose.

Anyone wanna chime in and lemme know if I should take some water out?

Thanks guys

you mean the grommet that holds the hose into the heart?

Naw,the grommet on the bottom of stem, where the stem pops or seals into the vase. There is a little water on that grommet and right at the bottom of the stem where the downpipe screws in there is a bit of water in there too.

Ok at the bottom of the entire stem, there is a grommet on there, you know where the stem gets pushed into the vase? Right in the opening where you screw the downpipe onto the stem, inside there gets a little wet.

Well, I wet my grommet to get it to slide better into the vase. She like's it better when it's lubricated a wee bit. No frction is key.

Probably a little to much water I'm guessin'. You submerging the down stem about .5-1 inches into the water?

It's tough for me to tell because my vase is colored so its hard to see the stem inside the water. I will try to put the downstem in then take it out and feel where the water level reached the downstem.

Thanks

yeah you want about 1"-1 1/2" above the bottom of the stem (the exhaust). i would use a lamp or flashlight behind the base to help you find your water level. it can be trickier on darker bases.

What kind of Hookah are you using? And watch the bubbles as you breath in through the hose. It should not go any higher than the grommet to the holes that lead to the hose. If that happens you'll get water in your hose. Bring down the water level. Edited by BDA88

A good rule of thumb is to have about 1.5 - 2 inches of the stem submerged. That should fix your problem. Some pipes, however, smoke a bit better with more water (Mya QT for example). But like EternalSoil said, if you get it in the hose, that's bad. If you use the 2" rule of thumb and still have troubles, then you are probably heaving too hard on the hose! tongue.gif

Hope that helps.
