Battle Of The Minis - Mya Qt Vs Hobo Hookah

Recommended Posts

My opinion on this...

I bought a Hobo Hookah a few months ago, and, because so many people raved about it, got a Mya QT last week. So, finally, now I can try them both and give my opinions.

I have no vested interest in either, I am simply Mr Joe Average Hookah Guy.

My favorite is Hobo Hookah. I am simply going to say that I get more smoke out of the Hobo, it's more fun to draw, it's cooler to have it's 'any bottle (except a wine bottle...hello guys we need a design change here)' mystique, very easy to clean, and the base doesn't wobble like the QT does. I'm surprised how annoying that is, to have to have a rubber base for it, but for me it's a lack of good design and it's unlike Mya to be cheap, but the base while thick enough, is cheesy and cheap IMHO.

For my money, the QT is a waste, but that's considering I have a Hobo Hookah for fun and sometimes travel, and a Mya Gyro for beauty, great smoking (well, with the phunnel I just got it REALLY makes a big difference, well worth the price, just go get one), ease of cleaning (stainless all around including in the shaft), and quality.

I took my Mya Gyro out for the first time today, once for lunch at one friends' house, then at my cousin's who first introduced me to Hookahs a few years ago. Both loved the experience, and I told them the phunnel's cool smoke made the difference-if you don't fill it to the top (and who needs to, it holds so much) you have a little space which prevents the shisha burn that puts a damper on one's experience.

That's my two cents, your mileage may vary (YMMV).

Your QT base wobbles? Mine's flat and sturdy. While my KM and my Syrian are both a bit wobbly, my QT doesn't budge.

My QT base is also flat and sturdy. Although I agree with Jerry - the quality is poor, there's parts of the base where the glass is quite thin. But overall I think my QT is a brilliant hookah.

Jerry, how do you find smoking without the use of a purge value? Surely there must be times when the shisha gets burnt etc, and you want to get rid of that taste asap
