mitchell8621
I was enjoying some Tangiers...for about 15 minutesreally good buzz, good kashmir peach flavor, but...but after that it got really harsh, to hot to smokeI am using a small phunnel, lots of tobacco in the bowl, well over the phunnel part of the bowl, and I fluffed the tobacco before I put it in. I used 2 QL akhla coals, one on each side, rotated every 10 minutes, what else can I do...the kashmir flavor was soo good and I want it longer. MechAnt
Much to many coals. Split one coal into a couple pieces and distribute the pieces. They key to Tangiers is the smoke in the base has to be thick but you still must be able to see downstem quite clearly
racemyghost
You're not suppose to "fluff" the shisha.Best way to pack it (for me at least) is to use a fork. Just scoop it out of the container and drop it into the bowl/phunnel. Remeber, you also dont need tooo much heat for tangiers. 4 golden jap. coals, one in each corner does it for me. mitchell8621
Do I need to poke holes in the center of the phunnel, I've heard yes and no, I did not
racemyghost
thats personal preference. I personally dont. I have in the past and noticed no difference.

After you remove some heat, purge the hookah and take a fresh hit.
Sonthert
Yeah, generally, when the flavor goes harsh after a few minute (15-20) too much charcoal combined with too little tobacco in the bowl is usually the responsible party.

Since I am forever afraid of too much heat, I tend to use too little, which sometimes means I never gets going. On a medium phunnel, I will use three Japanese coals, placed like a triangle--good?Also, have you ever experienced what you thought was a good bowl, which you had smoked since its beginning, but when someone else smokes, but they start 15-30 minutes into the same bowl, they find it harsh?
