staygone
3 Japs on a super chief or a small phunnel. Otherwise 1.5-2 QLs broken in half on either of those bowls. For a standard small egyptian or Mya bowl, 1 QL or two japs.-QM Edited February 25, 2008 by QuiltedMaple
BDA88
take one exotica and break it up in 4 pieces. Still use 3 of them for the small phunnel (cause they don't get as harsh as other bowls... which is how it is made). keep that 4th piece to the side and add when the others die down so they'll all be even. If harsh, just take one off and blow through the bowl a little. Packing depends on the shisha. Phunnels were made for tangiers and you pack that down, all the others you sprinkle in and get the shisha a little over the center hole. If it's even with it or under it, after the foil is put on and you breathe in, the foil will get pulled down and block out the air-flow through the center of the phunnel. For tangiers, stab bigger, deeper holes and one big one in the middle so oxygen can flow. For other shisha, stab smaller holds but same thing with the hole in the center. good luck
Sonthert
I'd say 3 Japanese or 3/4 of a 3Kings (3 of 4 pieces, broken into quarters).

Sometimes I use a 1/3 and a 1/4. That works good for me also.
Majid
Do you guys use the 40mm 3 Kings? I see people here talk about breaking 3K in half, but i swear the 10 times or so i tried (with the 33mm) they'd just chip at the side, never a clean break in half. I don't usually break them. With tangier's tobacco though, the heat is more picky so if 2 is not enough, I'll break a 33m in half and add it. To break it, I score it with a knife in the middle and break it.Occasionally, it will break into 4ths instead of halves and I'll just use 4ths. Jeff_T
I go with a half of an exotica, two 1/4 pieces on my small. When they get to about half their original size, light up another and keep that rotation going. because tangiers doesn't need much heat I find the 1/4 pieces work great, along with big holes and lots of baccy
