HookahDuck
I was going to buy 5 50g boxes of Romman from Hookah-shisha when I read that supposedly, I should use 2 sets of coals, and I can smoke Romman for 2 hours? PRODUCT DETAILS:Packaging: 5 X 50 gram boxesFlavor Quality: ExcellentThickness of Smoke: ExcellentSmoking Session: 2 hours per bowl (requires two sets of 2 charcoals)**Although this tobacco may seem more expensive than other brands of tobacco it is actually cheaper if you break it down on a per hour basis and you get better flavor through out the sitting. ***For best results make sure to use 1.5-2 pieces of charcoal per sitting and you will need two sets of charcoal per sitting to get the full 2 hours of smoke. That seems strange..?
the hookah hitman
How long a tobacco lasts has nothing to do with its quality. Romman does not last any longer than most other brands, think about it, what would make it last longer, and even if it did, who wants to smoke a hookah that people have been smoking on for 90min+. I would rather pack a fresh bowl. 3/4 burnt tobacco is nasty. Romman comes up with the line "BUT our tobacco LASTS over 2 hours" because they are trying to come up with whatever they can to compensate for the fact that they are BY FAR the most expensive tobacco on the US Market. The fact is, Amir, Fakher, Quemma, mouj al bahr, or any other premium tobacco other than nakhla will burn for two hours IF YOU PACK THE BOWL RIGHT. Just my opinion. ioannisds
the hookah hitman has some great points. I suppose if the bowl were big enough (i.e. a party bowl), and you went through a bunch of charcoal, you could make it last for a couple of hours. You could probably do that with most any ma'assell though. Besides, I thought only premium Havana ma'assell was the only tobacco out there to last for 2 hours a bowl... ahem, uh, cough, snort, cough, yeah . Lakemonster
I imagine a two hour smoke with anything is not out of the realm of possibility.... ...... you certainly couldnt overheat it...... or hork on it like a mad dog. the smoking would have to be real "casual"

SMOKE~N~BUBBLZ
I have to disagree, i smoke a lot and i get a good two hours if not more out of every bowl, and i smoke Nakhla, It just all depends on how you smoke it, ussually with me its just in front of the TV, relaxed and casual, If you are going to sit there and take "Power puffs" and dont stop, of course it wont last you that long, but i take regular pufs. probally once every 10-12 secs. And i also start on one side of teh bowl and move teh charcoal around the rim, this keep a nice and fresh tastes for the life of the life of the bowl Just my opinion. mushrat
Duck: To put it simply, under regular smoking conditions, it does NOT last 2 hours. But several of their flavours are DAMN tasty while they last.
HookahDuck
I tried the 2 hour trick last night. It was pretty "casually" smoked, but not too slow. Started with 2 golden coals for about an hour, and put another golden on after the first 2 had died. I got about another 30-40 minutes out of the third coal, while still keeping a ton of flavor and smoke. We tried the same with Nahkla Banana, but we could only get it to last about an hour. So there might actually be something to their claim! Still I agree- I dont think anything could make it last longer. Perhaps that Romman is just generally a pretty wet cut, while Nahkla is quite dry? HookahDuck
By the way, I've found the PERFECT setup for my eqyptian- following some of your guys' tips. Ma'assel 1/8" below rim. 2 layers of foil, shiny side down. 16 full toothpick sized holes, with a gap in the center. Then a razor thin slit down the center of the gap. 2 Golden coals. Let them ash completly before putting them on. Blow slowly into the bowl for 30 seconds. Take several long slow rips for a few minutes. Let it sit a moment, move the coals to their adjacent sides(making an X), and keep repeating this until it starts. Absolutly NO harshness! At All! My friends started getting harsh, and the blowing through the bottom of the bowl into the coal helped a ton. Thanks for the tip!
