Couple Of Questions

Before I ask, I'd like to say I've been reading for a while but this is my first post. So I've owned and been smoking a hookah for about a year. It's a Pharaoh from h-s and I've mostly smoked romman because that is what h-s sent me and it was good. That said I'm getting ready to make some big orders and try alot of new things. Anyway, sorry to ramble on to some questions.

1) I feel like I already know the answer to this but... is a phunnel worth the money?

2) Do quicklites burn hotter than naturals? And what is a non-messy way to break up coals? more specifically golden quicklites?

3) Does the ice chamber on the KMs or the syrian "chillers" work well? I am considering ordering a KM and if the ice chamber isn't functional, I'd rather not have it.

the easiest way to break quicklites is to make a cut with anything that has a serrated edge. something like a steak knife/bread knife/small saw. Make the cut about a 1mm deep, then use your hands to break.

should be about the same temp. if you find a non messy way, tell me! seriously though, lay a paper towel down, put the coal in the middle of it, score it with a steak knife, and break it in half

The ice chamber basically keeps the smoke the same temperature as when you first start a bowl. Some pipes tend to heat up at the top of the stem, and the ice chamber prevents this. It is a myth that it is used to cool the smoke. It may in fact do this, but very trivially.

as clichea mentioned, you are better off putting the ice in the water... But make sure that the level of the water doesnt go up too much or the pull will be hard.

2. I think the naturals (like exotica) burn hotter, honestly. I need fewer of them on the bowl than I do QLs.

3. I dont know, I dont own a KM.

on the ice chamber thing...i wanted the syrian chiller so bad...and since its sold out i bought a 31in syrian and i put some ice in the base and it hit amazing....the smoke was so nice i didnt even know i was gettin a hit and then got huge clouds
